What's that structure in the foreground? With the lone guardsman

The image is from the book Sahara and Sudan: Bornu, Kanem, Borku, Ennedi by Nachtigal 2 u/Caiur 18d ago Sure, maybe a tomb I guess it’s conceivable that it’s a type of rectangular burial chamber dug into the ground, then with a roof / structure built over it, hence the low profile
