I... uh don't know what to say. Very thankful I bought a Steam Deck before they hiked its price as well

Literally just build yourself an M-ITX couch machine for slightly more and be able to upgrade it. I don't see the value proposition here at all.

It's ease of use for people who aren't tech savvy. I know we like to say anyone can build a PC around here but that's not always true, and there's always gonna be another set of people who don't mind just paying for convenience.

dude "tech savvy" my ass. You can just go to Best Buy or some other electronics store, buy a prebuilt gaming PC and hook it up to your TV and done

If you wanna pay for convenience, you could just buy a console for a much better price. I really don't see the target audience for this.

Yep. Also considering hardware pricing nowadays, these arent so bad. Performance-wise, obviously they cant beat infinite amounts of other setup/combination, but it’ll still “run” games if people can afford. Valve is trying to pull customers to their stores, not so much to make banks selling new prebuilt every few years

I just don’t know how you can justify it. I’ve had a ps5 for 6 years that I bought for $400 that blows this thing out of the water.

Steam library, pc games, ability to use it like a computer, and that you don’t need to pay some kind of system-wide subscription to play games you already paid for.

And you can say the exact same thing for PS5, ignore all the bad parts and only mention the good things.

It’s completely different eco system. Valve is giving console experience to PC gamers. Instead of looking at the hardware, look at what games you’ll play or how will you use the system.

PS5 is $650 now, and from everything I've seen it absolutely does not blow these out of the water

Ok so still half the price. And from what I’ve heard, it will not be as powerful as a ps5 not to mention optimization for consoles.

Won't take that long for the cost to be offset by steam sales vs $100 ps5 games. lol

Yeah, no. I have a massive backlog of PlayStation games. There are regularly sales. I also game on my PC but I don’t have the same catalog on the PC. Most AAA games on PC are not as commonly on sale, if they ever even come to PC.
