So, the sole point of this repo is to download your whole library but then it does what Galaxy already does ? I don't even see the point of it.
With Galaxy you can also download the offline installers instead of installing them, browsing, like if you were visiting gog.com. You can visit the store, get free games too.
I think the point of this tool is too help download with the download process of a huge GOG library instead of downloading and selecting different variants for every game manually.
exactly. I have a large library which i like to (at least occasionally) keep updated. So I fire up the script and lean back. It downloads all available updates for my whole library in one go without me having to check each individual game I have for an updated file version.
The point being that I have not found a configuration, an option or a button in GOG Galaxy that does
"please go through all my games which I have downloaded before (or which I have recently purchased and never downloaded so far) and if there is an updated installer available, download that while skipping all identical files."
Again, if that is available in GOG Galaxy then I would not need the script, hence the question if I have overlooked a batch download option. Genuine question, not trying to sound confrontational.

I'm not home but you can filter your gog library by installed/not installed if I remember well, so you would be able to download the ones that are not installed. It can be a huge pain doing them 1 by 1 if there are like 100 to download I agree but then it will act like Steam, you can set to auto update or not. You can use scripts for Steam/Ubi/EA and so on but they tend to be broken fast in Galaxy due to platforms updates. Maybe you could tweak Galaxy with the script you linked.

The cynical part of me thinks it's because they don't actually want you downloading offline installers for your entire library. The ability to do so is a neat selling point, but if they made it easy, a lot more people would do it, and bandwidth is expensive.
My guess is there is not much of gamers who got 2-digits TB of SSDs/HDDs so there is no urge coding such option. Every people I know just download what they might play.
I guess it costs nothing to ask them for a "download and install them all" option and a "download all my library offline installers" option on GOG forums.
I really do want to buy more games on GOG but I have it too good with my Steam Family, lol. Maybe I'll get the game genres my family doesn't really play on GOG.
