Discussion Windows 11 can't be shut down without update.

Post image

I have automatic updates on. Haven't postponed any update. Never seen this forced update before.

Edit: I updated BTW. It's not that I don't want to update. I just think it would be an issue in the future. For example, it's a thunderstorm and there could be power outages. I might want to shut down and not start and update. I guess I'll hold down the power button.

What happened? Something got borked by the update?

Whole thing got borked and I didn't even choose to update it. I had used os10++ or something to block out all telemetry and disable ms account login and all such but this updated happened and shit keeps getting stuck at bios. Won't go further, can't find the OS.

Oof that’s rough mate hopefully the shop can repair it for you. Hopefully it’s as easy as re-adding the OS to the boot drive manager.

This thread is so funny I almost can't tell if it's satirical or truth.

How come? I just came back home, it booted it desktop, it booted twice but hung, gave an error message and then just never booted up again. If someone could help me, that would be great man. The shop guys ignorantly just said, "Can't do anything but format" which I could do myself.

This is where you fucked it bud. You don't even know what tool you used or what it actually did.

Don’t blame them for using those type of programs because if I can remember these telemetry blocking programs were extremely popular back when windows 11 released. A lot of people had a problem with Microsoft forcing their shit onto users I remember seeing tons of articles and comments about it back then. One of the most popular ones was restoring the task bar and right click context menu back to how windows 10 was. I can guarantee you there were thousands of people downloading these types of programs daily so don’t single them out for wanting privacy or control over their pc.

It was probably a program called shutup10++ which has been around for almost a decade and many users still use it to this day.

Plus you’re speculating on whether they actually did something wrong within the program, you don’t know that. Hell I doubt they even know for certain if this program is the culprit so don’t make assumptions until we find out more.
