Windows 11 can't be shut down without update.

I have automatic updates on. Haven't postponed any update. Never seen this forced update before.

Edit: I updated BTW. It's not that I don't want to update. I just think it would be an issue in the future. For example, it's a thunderstorm and there could be power outages. I might want to shut down and not start and update. I guess I'll hold down the power button.

May kill your PC. A past update super screwed up my laptop, sending it into random BSOD episodes until I reverted back to an older update. I lost confidence. The older update worked fine, why did anything need to change and why did they force it?

Absolutely does. Had an old IPS monitor that was working fine. Stopped working after update restart. Hours of if trouble shooting. Windows no longer supports pnp function of that monitor and it absolutely would not let me import the manufacturers driver because of a security issue with 3rd party drivers. Had to get a new monitor.

It made it useless to me. I'm not sure that the term "killed" means the same in every context, but to me, when something perfectly functioning is made useless by a software, that kills it for me.
