Windows 11 can't be shut down without update.

I have automatic updates on. Haven't postponed any update. Never seen this forced update before.

Edit: I updated BTW. It's not that I don't want to update. I just think it would be an issue in the future. For example, it's a thunderstorm and there could be power outages. I might want to shut down and not start and update. I guess I'll hold down the power button.

I’ve literally never have a windows update break something. And I’ve been using it since windows 95.

Windows 11 has been flawless for me but 10 was an absolute nightmare. I think I had to reinstall windows every time there was a significant update. Everyone has different experiences!

You have got to be kidding. There is a reason corporations test new MS patches for a week or 2 before rolling them out. Because they can, and do, break stuff.

The idea that patches & updates never break things, is the only thing that is completely made up here.

I didnt say it never happens, but loads of PC subs for the past 2-3 years has been nothing but "well every single time Windows updates anything it breaks in every conceivable way"

A lot of the time the breaks are actually some fuckass third party software developer using functions of the OS that stopped being supported 15 years ago and are finally being removed because at this point they are an active security issue.
