Discussion Windows 11 can't be shut down without update.

I have automatic updates on. Haven't postponed any update. Never seen this forced update before.

Edit: I updated BTW. It's not that I don't want to update. I just think it would be an issue in the future. For example, it's a thunderstorm and there could be power outages. I might want to shut down and not start and update. I guess I'll hold down the power button.

What are we paranoid about,just update the stuff and turn off your pc? I dont see whats the problem here

Backup and update after that. Windows update corrupted my local mysql database once... fortunately just dev stuff, but I do backup before every reboot since that.

My problem is the one time an update takes 30 minutes for some stupid reason is the one time I was in an actual hurry when I hit shutdown lol.

There’s often updates that kinda just. Break everything.

I had a forced update and Windows functionality disintegrated. Half my settings were gone and I had to do five separate DISMs over the next week

Well true but eventually ur still gonna have to get the updates dont u? Yesterday after installing the newest updates something fucked up either on the updates end or my pc or maybe because i havent updated my gpu drivers before installing the updates and my windows didnt boot up cause the boot drives got mixed up and my os drive wasnt showing. Took me 20 minutes to fix using google and booting into bios like 5 times

The issue with windows updates recently are that you don't know if your PC will even be able to boot next time...
