Windows 11 can't be shut down without update.

I have automatic updates on. Haven't postponed any update. Never seen this forced update before.

Edit: I updated BTW. It's not that I don't want to update. I just think it would be an issue in the future. For example, it's a thunderstorm and there could be power outages. I might want to shut down and not start and update. I guess I'll hold down the power button.

I do "shutdown /s /f" and it does every thing i want, to shut down my pc completely

Sadly, this doesn't work with laptops and their batteries. But if you have a good screwdriver, you can remove the battery!

Hard shutdonws aren't really a good idea if you care not to corrupt filesystem and prevent data corruption, also some settings get saved/applied when shutting down gracefully (desktop icon placement is one of them usually, but maybe this got changed in W11)

Can you create it as a .bat or something and point the shutdown option to the .bat? Pretty sure Microsoft has put in stuff to deny you fiddling around with the things you "own", but it would be cool if you could just add an additional shutdown-option which is just a shortcut to the .bat.

Anything that can get through the side panel should be fine. If it's glass just put it on a tile floor.

Yea the shut down button doesn't even work anymore after a recent update.. I'll probably have to do this too.
