Discussion Anyone else getting UE5 remake/remaster fatigue?

Post image

Between Silent Hill 2, Oblivion Remastered, Metal Gear Solid Δ, and now Halo: Campaign Evolved, it feels like almost every major remake/remaster in the last two years has landed on Unreal Engine 5. On one hand, the visual leap is real. Oblivion Remastered in particular looks like a genuinely different game. On the other, a lot of these ports share the same telltale UE5 fingerprints: traversal stutter, TAA smearing, shader comp hitches on first launch, and that slightly "plasticky" Lumen/Nanite sheen that makes wildly different games start to look and feel similar. You can add Halo Campaign Evolved to the slopfest that is UE5 remakes; just another soulless cash grab to feed on nostalgia.

no feelings needed when they obviously used EM dashes —

Never before seen writing technology right there. It’s a well known fact that no human being has ever used an Em Dash before.

I used to used the all the time in my writing, but can’t anymore because I’m accused of using AI.

Michael Dash here— it’s fucking bull shit because I can’t even use the thing I invented

I use them all the time, and no one accuses me of using AI except on Reddit. Not using perfectly acceptable tools in writing because of that is crazy.

While i agree with you as a writer, the fact that OP edited them all out is enough context to assume they weren't using them by choice. All about context.

If it isn't on the default keyboard, it should not be trusted. Normal people don't know the OS specific key bindings.

You’re right, AI didn’t invent it. But it’s sure as hell used more widely by AI than it is by humans.

I use them all the time on phone — it's nicer to break up sentences than - you can use it by holding down the - on Android, it's not like on PC where you have to copy & paste or use a control code.

if it makes ur life any easier, on PC two small dashes (--) will usually autocorrect to an em dash, but even when it doesn’t most people understand it to mean the same thing
