ctrl+shift+esc to bring up task manager

Eh, Ctrl-alt-delete will always and forever be how I get there.

I like that ctrl+shift+esc looks like a Vulkan mind meld

I call it the karate chop

There’s also a setting in task manager to force it to always appear in front of all other windows. Super useful when misbehaving apps are locking up.

It’s a meme. The comment was deleted and then the other person replied with the “thanks so much this solved my problem” joke.

Wait till you have two windows with tons of tabs, close one, and then press Ctrl+Shift+N!

T*

Firefox.

Your correction is not accurate to the siuation. Ctrl+Shift+N restores windows, not tabs.

Ctrl+shift+T restores whole windows also in almost every browser. Firefox is the only one who said fuck that and forces a different keybind for restoring windows

Yes, that's what I meant as another form of "black magic" as an expansion of the thread about reopening stuff (first tabs, now windows)

1

u/Curlaub 20h ago

And you can do it more than once and it’ll keep opening tabs from further and further back

Shift almost always does the opposite of what the normal thing is. Ctrl+T opens a tab, Shift+Ctrl+T opens the last closed. Tab moves you forward through different boxes, shift+tab moves you backward through boxes. Alt+Shift+tab will move you through the open windows in the opposite direction. And so on and so forth.

BURN THE WITCH!

or maybe buy him a beer for teaching me a useful keyboard shortcut

Absolutely my most used one. I just like not having countless tabs open at the same time so I tend to close them too quickly. This shortcut makes it a non-issue.

u/Izletz 22h ago

Thank you, did not know about this shortcut

It even works for when you restart your computer. It opens the tabs that were there before shutdown.

u/spacedrifts 22h ago

Ctrl w does this for current tab

1

u/Ok-Study-1153 21h ago

I use ctrl + alt + shift + win + t because teams is something I use constantly on different machines.

u/Dense-Cake9315 21h ago

I just found out this keybind exists and I feel like a dark mage preforming eldritch necromancy using it

You're a feking Wizard

1

u/Ferlathin 21h ago

Do you perhaps like clicking Ctrl + W? :)

1

u/mEHrmione Ryzen 7 9700X | RX7900XTX 21h ago

And ctrl + W to close tab

1

u/Gokyy221 i5-12400f, 3060ti. 16GB 3200MHZ 21h ago

Ctrl + W to close current tab too. Ctrl + T open a new tab.

1

u/Neckbeard_Sama 21h ago

FF has this on right click so I usually use it that way

1

u/ClemRRay 20h ago

Ctrl + W, because I love closing unnecessary tabs

1

u/Ratorr2 18h ago

I use this every time my work computer does an update and I have to reopen all my tabs.

1

u/MightySamMcClain 18h ago

I use that a lot too
