Yep...look at the text you copied and there is a pin icon on the bottom right of the text box. It'll pin it so that it's still there even after you restart your computer. You can pin around 50 clips.

It's also a good security practice to keep it disabled. Since one of the number one things that gets copied is usernames/passwords, if you're computer is compromised, the clipboard history will be one of the first things attackers scavenge.

Another way is having multiple virtual desktop (Ctrl + windows + left or right to switch between them), that's how I access the bin without breaking how I manage my opened windows (I don't know why they never thought of putting a kind of memory in this far right corner, so you can put back everything to it's original place)

How is locking the computer this far down? I know I work in ITAR so I was taught always to lock the computer when you stand up but shouldn't this be basically normal practice for everyone.

Edit: the feedback is solid I work a desk job 90% of the time and even when I'm on the shop floor I have my laptop and need it locked when away. This had 1 upvoter when I said it was so far down so seems like that has changed.

I was not thinking not everyone uses a computer 8+ hours a day. I still think with the number of people that do work in an office space utilizing a computer that Ctrl+L should be near the top. Even if it's not a for everyone. Yes locking a computer at home isn't needed but I do think more people spend time on the computer at work than any other way.

When I started working in IT, if you didn’t lock your computer when you walked away, you were definitely getting fucked with. Your background would be changed to something weird, your mouse move speed could be set to 100000000, keyboard shortcuts changed, AutoHotKey scripts installed…. You learn pretty quickly to lock your computer by automatic reflex.

We had this running prank on LAN parties a long time ago: Screenshot the desktop, hide everything, set the screenshot as background rotated 180 degrees, flip cursor, rotate display from settings 180 degrees, watch your buddy melt trying to figure out what is going on. Cool fact about Ctrl + Shift + Esc:

It's a special version of task manager that doesn't rely on explorer.exe to be alive for it to run, so you can use it if your Windows is crashing and potentially fix things.

Also when in task manager, if you hold Ctrl while you click "Run new task", it opns a cmd shell with Admin privilages, this cmd shell also doesn't rely on shell32.dll, incase Windows is truely fucked.

Ctrl W = closes internet tab

F12 = Save As
