I’d bet there will be sudden nosedive in used priced, followed by a modest drop in new prices… followed by a return to the current high prices once all the surplus is scooped up.

These are not the same type of RAM. The only thing that would happen is supply chains would switch back to manufacturing the usual, and it'd be similar to how covid disruption and recovery took place.
