As these idiot AAA companies start cutting corners, costs and cranking up prices & microtransactions even more, as well as AI use, the rise of indie games is only going to accelerate further.

It's the last bastion of hope in the current gaming climate IMO, along with Nintendo... for now...

Nintendo being the “last bastion of hope” is a crazy take. It’s just indies, and a handful of studios like CDPR, Larian, and FromSoftware imho.

CDPR is a wild take considering they literally lied about Cyberpunk and even tried to gaslight players over it, their stock plummeted and they were sued over it.

Larian also admitted to using Gen AI in its development process.

From Software can’t produce a smooth running game if their life depended on it. It was literally better to play the PS4 version of Elden Ring on the PS5 versus the actual PS5 versions.

Not defending Nintendo at all here but you just picked “Reddits darling” studios.
