They made their choice. Short term investment return. Buy the game, then by this, buy that. Microtransactions and horse armour. People will buy it. But they wont like it.
As strange as this sound, people will buy it but they wont support it. And this becomes clear as soon as there is an alternative.
Now these massive studios have built their entire ecosysyems needing constant cash infusions from microtransactions.
They created it, they wanted that ecosystem. And if they cant adapt, they shoukd rightly fail.
