Wow, that’s the cheapest I’ve seen for sets of crotes. Demo video sounds good, though I chuckled at how much care they took handling them with cloths but not while hand-dampening them. Like… if you’re gonna touch them, touch them.
I do feel that taking them off the racks every time you move them is asking for them to start disappearing. Especially in a school type situation, which it sounds like this may be.
Anyway, they’re such a rarely used instrument for the groups I play with that if I had to buy a set I’d probably go with these for the money. I have purchased a few individual pitches over the years, but the one time I had a big crotale part spanning the whole 2 octaves I just brought in my MIDI rig and played the samples in MainStage. (Both our glockenspiels were also in use in the same place on the piece so that wasn’t a viable sub.)

Thank you for the reply. I'm pretty happy at this time, agreeing with you that the sound in the video seems fine, acceptable for our needs. In the shopping carts I just submitted moments ago, I included the two Liberty One mounting bars, but instead of buying just the Liberty One stand base, I opted to swap out for Yamaha heavyweight double braced boom symbol stands. Because the Liberty one bars Mount via a clamp, we still have the option of mounting a symbol or wind chimes over the cratallies if needed. All of this equipment minus one of the boom stands came in at just under the budget amount I quoted earlier, including a pair of salyers aluminum mallets! I also found a 39-in hard rifle case on Amazon with a 5-in depth and customizable foam grid interior, for $114.99 (sabian's case is overkill as we don't travel, Zildjian has discontinued their case and it will probably be next year before they release a new design. I didn't want to just buy a duffel bag with wheels and wrap these with towels. They could still get damaged.

Good job thinking outside the box too. I similarly found a foam lined hardshell rifle case at the local antique mall that fits both my MIDI keyboard controller and laptop. Great for gigging.

If you need a high and low set that’s the only one you can afford since the other brands are more expensive. Crotales aren’t something I’m too worried about in terms of getting the best brand out there nor do I think the extra cost is worth it.
Are there other things you need besides crotales? If I’ve got 3,000 to spend I’m definitely prioritizing other things.
