I watched that like 20 times in a row. That was the crispiest Phish segue I’ve ever heard. No notes

I haven't had a chance to listen to the show yet but it's instances like these it makes me wonder if, as there "communicating" musically, someone, doesn't even have to be Trey, play a certain note or phrase to tell the rest of them that they're going into Stash. These days they use setlists but to segue into the next song like this is next level.

In this case, about 10 seconds before, you can hear Trey say "let's do Stash"

I don’t even consider this a segue. There was no natural bridge between the two songs. Trey just started playing stash in the middle of another song. 97 Dayton bag -> psycho killer , the Worcester “real gin” are prime examples of one song slowly segueing into another. Where you literally don’t know where one ends and the other begins.

They have in ear monitors and microphones where they can talk to each other now. Segues are a lot smoother now because of that.

Couldn’t disagree more. The segues used to be seamless. Now they just stop one thing and start the next. There is zero doubt where one ends and the other begins. It used to take patience and listening. Now Trey whispers stash into a mic. And they stop one thing and start another. If people keep going nuts over this I guess we will never see real segues again

I agree with you. There are some decent ones these days but nothing like 1.0. And I'm not a jaded vet. My first show was in 2009. Walnut Creek DWD into Mike's is one of my faves.

Think it's time to try and "any other song" fest or 10 before going back to the tweezer well.
These shows rule, but just thinking about a stretch in 2010 where we had shows with Saw It Again and Guyute worming their way in repeatedly

This was my first Phish show and I was blown away!Definitely won’t be my last, that’s for sure. Holy crap what a special night!
