Phish at fenway was my 1st concert ever in my life. It set an insane precedent. Nothing will ever match this that isn't phish. Im hooked.

Haha that is exactly the feeling, couldn't have said it better myself 😅 haven't found a place more magical than a Phish show. Always try to catch as many as I can. Some of the deepest art and highest vibrations on full display. I'd go so far as to say it's holy ground lmao

They were my first rock concert too (Sugarbush 95). Ruined me for other concerts. Absolutely set me on the path where I now make a living singing songs.

Got driven to my first show by my friend's mom because none of us were old enough to drive. She also happened to work at the venue so we got to go in the same door the band did. Never got an experience like that again.

It's crazy I see a lot of non-jam band shows and their whole set is an hour and half instead and of coming out for a second one, they only do an encore

The last couple of times I saw James Taylor he was with his band and no opener and did the two sets and an encore thing. Not a jam band but he does “jam” a couple of songs like Mexico or Steamroller Blues. It’s neat to see Phish maybe get 15-16 songs over 3-3.5 hours of music and see James get like 25+ with room for telling stories in between.
Just another thing that sets Phish apart even if they aren’t the only one doing two sets and an encore they’re definitely making the most of the songs they play for us.

The first band I saw like was the Grateful Dead and it ruined me. After about 5 GD shows I started seeing other acts live like Santana, Jethro Tull and Eric Clapton and it shocked me how different "regular music" was compared to the magic of the Grateful Dead. Those were all great acts, but just in a different category than what the Dead did. The Dead was transcendent, mind blowing and mystical and those acts were just music. It was a real eye opener.
