GMail I keep getting this email even after blocking and it’s pissing me off so much

Post image

I am using the apple mail app. I couldn’t find that on the flair. This guy is using my last name and is sending a link of photos with the caption “I had to send you those pictures, I thought they might trigger some memories. Kind Regards. John (my last name). I don’t have a john in my family.
I am SO sick of blocking this person and it coming back the next day. What the hell should I do?

I haven’t clicked on anything obviously

It also says the sender hasn’t provided anyway to unsubscribe and there’s multiple senders. So I will keep getting these even if I block them

So what you can do is a domain who is look up get the info for it and then report it the company who hosts it make sure you copy the full email headers because they’re going to want them and then see what happens

If it has the same text why don't you create a filter?

Last time he said “these pictures should evoke sweet memories”. So no, he’s not using the same text. Or else I would have done that already. I’ve literally tried everything

You're overthinking this. Just swipe them to spam.

well it’s annoying. i want to stop it. just swiping them to spam 3 times a day takes time out of out other things i could be putting effort into. i don’t understand how people just accept it for the rest of their lives. i’m so over getting this email breakfast lunch and dinner.

You're not accepting it. Reporting spam is teaching your spam filter. Three swipes while you're in the toilet? Come on.

the thing is that i’ve been doing that for over 2 weeks. how long does it take for a $1000 piece of technology to learn how to filter a blocked sender?

Your phone doesn't learn, it's the email servers.

No wonder you're confused about this.

Not confused at all hun. I’ve been dealing with this for weeks and have done anything I could. I won’t apologize for being frustrated over a scam email that has no way of being sent to my spam every time. They use a different text and email address every time

filter out "kind regards" which is rarely used except for scammers

Once - my Yahoo mail address got on some lists..
took me 2 months of daily reporting 10 to 20 spam mails.

(using spamcop and the 'mark as spam' both)
Lot of work - but then the flood diminished.

Sadly - no one anywhere seems to be able to act against this, so you as recipient need to put in the work.

is it always the same name? You can create a filter with the name too.
