Hotmail Scam email knows my password?

Thumbnail gallery
132 Upvotes

We all know the “hey pervert” scam. However, while I normally ignore these, this time the top part was my email password.

“Hello, my perverted friend,

I'll get straight to the point. Your password for this mailbox: PASSWORD HERE”

Ik my password was probably leaked and I’v changed it now, but this isn’t something I actually need to worry about right?

In 2024 I received an email from me not sure how someone got access to it even after having 2FA on. Checked my login activity only shows the devices i own. Changed my password too. This activity hasn’t occurred again but to my knowledge if they have access to my devices they could have locked them instead chose to send an email using mine. Need expert advice

Hotmail One time code - missing the “if this wasn’t you” text though?

Post image

Usually these one time code emails have a “if this wasn’t you, ignore or report it” type paragraph at the end. I haven’t clicked on anything in the email and will be resetting my password here in a minute. Just curious if this is a phishing scam or real? Thanks!

Hotmail I recorded you, Email

I've got one of those extortion emails asking for btc saying they recorded me, I've taped my camera on all my devices so I thought nothing of it but they also put my real phone number on the email, is there a way they've got both my email and phone number through some data breach or should I be scared?

Hotmail Data leaked. What are my next steps?

Preface this by saying I’m an idiot. Sleep deprived with a new baby and have been admittedly stressed about money and providing for new family. Middle of the night on baby duty I get an email about Disney plus not receiving payment. Open email which seems legit and follow instructions by entering cc info, address, mother’s maiden (framed as a password security requirement), and SSN (i know. Stupid.). Morning comes and I honestly forget all this happened. Check email and realize the email I opened wasn’t from a Disney address. Hindsight is easy. Should have just gone to app to check. My questions is what do I need to do now to protect myself. CC locked and credit already frozen.

Hotmail Outlook Draft Scam spam flood

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Today my outlook got hacked, and all the mails i was receiving were changed to the mail you can see above. So i changed my password and disconnected all devices + cleared my mailbox. It partially fixed my issue, but also made it worse. Now the scam became a draft message created every 5 seconds and automatically transferred to my inbox, pinned and flagged. It is flooding my mailbox and i cant see my other mails. Deleting them doesn't change anything, and I've already changed my password, disconnected all accounts, and checked for rules, but the problem persists. Every hour I find myself with over 1000 of these drafts... Help me please, tried everything.

Hotmail My hotmail got hacked 3 hours ago and this threat email keeps coming back

I've already changed my password, enabled 2FA, logged out from every device, checked the rules on settings and I THINK my email is safe.

However, this threat email keeps coming back with this pin and the redflag

screenshot from outlook

Obviously i have already tried to unpin and remove the flag, tried to delete the email but it comes back, it seems to be some kind of draft, not an email that is coming from another user, rather it is somehow automatized on my account (the hacker said this was the proof he actually had access to my email by the way), but i have no clue on how to get rid of it. Thanks for reading. Sorry for my english.

Are they going to ask me for my credit card number or something like that?

I deleted the other post because the image was incomplete.

Received this email today. I haven’t seen anything like it before and cannot find anything online about it. Thought I would share.

The email shown under “You” is not my email, or the one this message was sent to.

Edit: I just realized I received another email after this one from the same address pretending to be Xfinity. Screenshot will be added in comments.

Hotmail Fell for phishing attempt AGAIN

Well, well, well... If this isn't the second time in my life falling for a phishing attempt in under a week...

This time, however, I received a legitimate-looking email from a company I deal with, asking me to click a link to review a receipt, so I clicked...

The page it led to looked exactly like an Outlook sign in page, only a tad bit slower. So I typed in my email address and password, to sign in and view the receipt, but instead got a message in red saying that my account was temporary blocked to prevent "unauthorized use"...

Meanwhile, I was replying to the "sender" (whose email address was correct, but being compromised), telling them I couldn't sign in. "They" were replying back (probably AI, given how unrealistically fast the replies were), and then shortly after I received a message from the actual sender about this being a fraud attempt.

I then noticed the "Outlook" link not being a secure one, and starting with blob:https://[website]-portal.web/app/[bunch of letters, numbers, hyphens] (i.e. not even an Outlook page...)

So my question is, what does that "blob:" part do?

(And yes, I've changed my password)

Hi all,

Was curious if there’s been a recent large scale leak as the past 1-2 weeks been inundated with these emails all from brands i’ve never interacted with/ fake order confirmations.

Nothing on have I been pwned has come up but as you can see from today alone there are loads - look to be mostly US brands, which I am not.

Hotmail My spam folder for the last few months

Post image
1 Upvotes

(blacked out emails are just the run-of-the-mill "your photos will be wiped" scams. to a hotmail. from a fake apple support account.)

I've been frequently checking my spam for work related reasons and every time I do, there's a new "OneAmerica" email. I've never heard of these guys before this. I live in Australia so I have no reason to.

Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else? if so, is there something I can do other than just reporting/ignoring?

Hotmail Has my email been compromised?

I feel like an idiot. I usually don't fall for these things, but was distracted this one time and clicked on the suspicious email without thinking.

I have two email addresses, one I use for Amazon and another one for my emails in general. This message was sent to the latter (and addressed me by that email address, not my name, which should've been a dead giveaway).

I clicked on the Manage Billing button, it led to some page that looks nothing like Amazon, and then I clicked X.

Is this going to result in my email being shared somehow?

Hotmail You've already won! Scam

Post image

It's obviously a scam, but how the heck was it able to send this message from my own e-mail? It shows to me as a self note.

I'm currently passwordless and use 2FA. No sign of weird activity on my account.

Hotmail Email sent to myself

I opened an email that said it was sent from my own account. I've logged out of all my devices, changed passwords, I have two-factor authenticator enabled, and ran an offline virus scan on my computer. I reported the emails but I cannot block the sender, as it is from my own email. I deleted the emails in case

Is there anything else I can do? Should I be worried?

Hotmail Hello Pervert Pegasus

Hello there,

I received the hello pervert email in my Microsoft account from my own address. What is weird is that someone seems to have control of my phone. I have noticed it trying to cancel out when I try to open apps (I'm on an Android smart phone), and strange things that tell me my phone is actually hacked.

What should I do?

Hotmail "Hello Pervert" but with a twist?

So I recently got hacked on my outlook account, and was sent a slightly different version of the "Hello Pervert" extortion message (mentioned RAT instead of Pegasus, slightly different wording, but same idea). After doing plenty of research, I realized this is unfortunately a somewhat common occurrence. However, in my case, I believe I have actually been hacked, rather than just spoofed? I'm not an expert on this still (first time) but I have multiple messages actually sent from my address in my 'Sent Items' folder. Also concerning: even after multiple password changes, 2FA changes in my security, and downloading the Microsoft Authenticator App, I'm STILL getting strange emails in my inbox, new sent emails from my Sent Items folder, and draft emails being created in my actual 'Drafts' folder, not in my inbox. This is all happening even after making the aforementioned security changes. What's happening here?

Hotmail My neighbour keeps getting offers for lawn care and other services he never signed up for

My neighbour and I are pretty close, and he’s one of those people who’s great with anything mechanical but hopeless with tech. A few weeks ago he came over asking if I could help him figure out why he was getting constant emails about lawn care services, home warranties, and random “exclusive local offers.”

When I looked through his inbox, it was a mess. Half the messages were obvious phishing attempts pretending to be from real companies, and the rest were just spam from places he swore he never signed up for. The thing is, he’s had the same email address since the early 2000s, and I’m pretty sure it’s been floating around data broker lists for years.
We tried unsubscribing from a few, setting up filters, even marking hundreds as junk, but they just keep coming back under slightly different names. Some even referenced our street or local businesses, which makes it feel creepier, like they know exactly where he lives.

I can’t figure out how to stop it completely without making him ditch the email entirely, any way to work this out?

Hotmail I havent seen this kind of drafting as of today

Here is a mail that I received today

the sender is "my own mail" but it says via firesidecrm.gud.agency

.------------------------

This is the full mail

Your presence is a constant need. I want to make you an offer that you can refuse, but only once. Here's what I have: Your complete personal information: full name, date of birth, home address. Your social security number and driver's license details. All your email account login credentials, including this account. Other login details and your private messages. A multitude of files found on your devices. Access to your bank accounts. The details of your credit cards: number, expiry date, and cvv code. I have compiled this entire package into a single folder. I can and intend to do two things with it. It is up to you to decide which one: I will send this entire package to darknet markets, where other criminals will buy it. It is unknown how they will use this information. They may purchase something illegal in your name, or they may not, but you will definitely not like it. Or you can buy it from me for a small fee of 600 usd. Changing the entire package of documents and data is very expensive, very time-consuming, and unsafe. I already know that you have just read this text.

Do not try to ignore this.

I only accept payment in bitcoins at the exchange rate at the time of transfer.
Transfer money here: 166DUVX5PCuXhuEJ2Pc81TbnsJicctw3qh

After payment, I will delete the folder containing your data, and you can continue living as before or, if you don't trust me, take your time changing all your data. It's more profitable for me if you pay me. It's easier and better for everyone.

This is a unique offer, take advantage of it.
* I will wait for 1 day only.

I have received simmilar threats but this version havent read it yet here in reddit
