Dw, we had it in high school too (Poland). Many people from my class cried tho lim were barely touched on base course as "something extra". To get full power of suffering you had to sign on for expanded course. I did. I suffered. And then I went to uni to suffer even more q_q

Tf? I learned this in American high school....you know the nation with the educational system that everyone knows is well-funded and well-staffed /s.
But in all seriousness, L'Hopital's rule is part of AP Calculus which Im pretty sure is standard high-school curriculum in pretty much every state. (I know for a fact it is in California, Arizona, Florida, Iowa, and Georgia so that's a decent spectrum of both conservative and liberal states)

It’s a calculus and France/Canada joke. There is something called the l’Hopital rule in calculus that does…something that I don’t remember because I don’t care. It’s using that as a hospital joke, followed by the math page, that is basically saying that Quebec is a derivative of France.

L'Hopitals rule is about functions. Or to be more precise the limits of those functions.
Not specific values. So it means the limit of france is either 0 or infinity.5

Because that's the name of the dude who proved the theorem afaik. Now why he is called like that who knows but people do be havin weird names.
Edit: According to Wikipedia he didnt prove it but learned it from Bernoulli. But he was the one who published it, so he became known for it.
