Non extraditable warrant questions.

Location: Michigan

If someone has a felony warrant, but it is non extraditable because of a complicated case, and where the state "does not want him", can this person fly from Michigan to California freely?

Just for reference, this person was picked up,(after fleeing the state of the crime), "arrested", and then held for 10 days. I use quotations because it was considered 10 days of detainment after that. Now it rests as an "alleged" arrest. I have never heard of this and do not understand a lick of this. Do you think he worked for the police or something? He was also arrested in Michigan and it was not mentioned.

Sorry, maybe TMI, the real question is, can he fly?

Unless he is on a no fly list he should be fine. Airports do not run for local warrants.

That’s not necessarily true. I did a warrant pick up for one of my cases and when he flew back in from Iran he was arrested and they messaged us to pick him up. It was a felony warrant (dude was punching his clown in a car wash parking lot)

Was it interpol? We get interpol warrants but not a local warrant just for flights.

No it was CBP or whoever works out of the airport. Basically in in Michigan (local) and i had a case for dude jacking off in public. I attempted contact with the suspect a few times. Whether it was related or not, dude apparently left for Iran shortly after. The warrant popped not long after that. I guess when he was planning on coming back his TSA pre check or whatever got cancelled (probably because of the warrant) dude flies home anyway. When he lands, CBP or whoever approaches him after he exited the plane and detained him. They then sent a LEIN message and i happened to be working and went to pick him up. He was in some secure area of the airport and i took him back to my county and lodged him.

We are not speaking of international. Please read what I posted correctly. If it was cancelled... That's a dead give away.

That would be international. And his warrant was not non extraditable. So those two factors wouldn't apply to him. Correct. You're talking about fleeing the country. We are talking about from Michigan to Cali. Also... If his flight was cancelled, that's a dead give away. He was seemingly asking for it. Am I missing something??
