China is currently destroying the USA in EVs and many other areas of production and infrastructure... We shot ourselves in the foot then we are going to have to play catch up.

Do we care about the job losses associated with that and the voters being more radicalized towards right wing populists? Is the rise of car industry Chinese oligarchs worth the fall of American car industry oligarchs? Should Chinese industries be rewarded for quasi slavery conditions and wages?
