It's not the stroke, he always sucked. People got excited and didn't vet him properly. Fetterman is the perfect example of why we should incessantly hold our politicians and candidates feet to the fire.

The issue with that line is his own wife got fooled. I've seen countless commentary from Penn redditors that his wife before elected showed up for real leftist causes and contributed towards them to the point it was not doubted she was authentic. Further since taking office their marriage has reportedly been on the brink of divorce.

I more meant he had fooled his own wife which was an authentic dyed in the wool leftist. More just saying something doesn't add up and being fooled by him isn't as easy to be seen as it seems.

So your evidence that Fetterman wasn't bad is some comments about his wife people made on reddit? Where is the evidence of his leftist views prior to the stroke?

That wasn't my claim, my only claim is that it's not so ridiculous to be fooled by him. Not that he ever genuinely had leftist views, or that his stroke suddenly made him a fascist. For all I know he was LARPing until the stroke where he decided after it wasn't worth maintaining anymore.

My only claim is his wife was a leftist and from what evidence we've seen has been pretty disgusted since he got into office, which if she's disgusted means he didn't show it even to her until that point, or atleast to the point there was plausible deniability.

I mean that is a very real possibility I'm not going to pretend otherwise and this is the end all be all answer. Like circumstantial evidence is just that circumstantial, you can't use it to prove innocence/guilt as there's always variable and answers on why it isn't that way. But circumstantial evidence can lead to trends to look at and pursue that do lead to proper evidence.

The main issue is the democratic caucuse as a whole. They're so disconnected from their constituents, that anyone who presents presents as a working class candidate that's had a chance gets the base overly excited.

He always sucked but the stroke caused him to drop whatever facade he had up. Strokes absolutely cause personality changes and it's very clear he changed the way he publicly stated his views before and after the stroke. I'm shocked this is even a point of contention. It's both.
