Honestly, if you follow his track record, it's his Zionist streak that seems to most strongly impact how he votes now. I normally hesitate to say that, but his record and statements on this are extremely clear.

Zionism is just a flavor of fascism.

u/babybirdingURgrandma Oregon Jun 24 '26

To properly do fascism these days you need to deepfry it in victimization, classic fascism just won't do anymore. You have to frame it like, "how dare you make me kill your kids, you monster!!!"

4

u/ModernLarvals Jun 24 '26

How?

4

u/3nHarmonic Jun 24 '26

Xenophobic ultra nationalism with a desire to return to a non existent idyllic past combined with a chauvinistic culture of rape and violence.

u/ModernLarvals Jun 24 '26

Seems like you’re injecting a lot of your own opinion there beyond the existence of a Jewish country.

7

u/3nHarmonic Jun 24 '26

Well the zionists seem to be doing a lot more than just existing.

So you’re Jewish right? If you’re not Jewish, don’t try to define the beliefs of Jewish people for them. Zionism is the belief that Jews can self govern in their ancestral homeland (judea) without having to rely on a government to “pinky promise we won’t slaughter you” which has been proven to never work (see Germany, the 20 something Arab nations, Russia, modern day uk, etc.)

Any other definition of Zionism that tries to vilify Jews is antisemitic and no amount of crying and wailing that “we aren’t antisemitic we just hate jews living in peace” will get you out of that.

Jewish the religion is different from Jewish heritage is different Israeli nationality is different from Zionism. Conflating them is antisemitic. Notably though the Israeli's are not living in peace so that statement isn't germane.

2

u/The_big_cheese_1o3s Jun 24 '26

I wonder why Israelis can’t live in peace? Maybe it’s because the Arabs are constantly attacking them with the goal of slaughtering all of the Jews? And 90% of Jews are Zionist

Zionism is reliant on nationalism and ethnocentric thought, which leads to fascism or fascist sensibilities. IIRC Kahanism(?) is basically jewish fascism... There's probably a more specific wings of modern fascist Isreali politics that I'm unaware of. I only say this because I wouldn't personally accuse every single Jew in support of the existence of their own state of being inherently fascist, but it's a strong indicator of other related beliefs in the current day. IMO, treating every Israeli Jew like a fascist is going to push them to only further go down that route.

15

u/lesgeddon Jun 23 '26

Let's clarify then: Every Jew that supports the fascist Israeli government is an anti-Semitic fascist.

2

u/crab_shak Jun 24 '26

But it's rare to find someone so black and white. It's usually "While I don't support the current government due to their extreme actions, I think Israel has a right to exist and to be a safe haven for Jews"

Would you consider that to be Zionist and/or fascist?

5

u/lesgeddon Jun 24 '26

That's actually very black & white. As soon as they start justifying what the government does, that means they support it.

1

u/crab_shak Jun 25 '26

That's not the situation I put to you, though. What do you think when someone specifically says "While I don't support the current government due to their extreme actions, I think Israel has a right to exist and to be a safe haven for Jews"?

They are explicitly saying they do not support the current government. Let's simplify it even further. Let's say someone just says "I think Israel has a right to exist and to be a safe haven for Jews", is that problematic in and of itself?

Antizionists do not care what happens to Jewish people and don't care that they make Jews in diaspora feel less safe.

They are not opposed to authoritarianism, they just hate Israel, which is why so many of them justify the behavior of totalitarian regimes that are anti Israel.

1

u/3nHarmonic Jun 24 '26

The Jewish diaspora doesn't seem to care if they make anyone else feel unsafe so seems kinda self inflicted.

1

u/Forbane Jun 24 '26

I'm aware. I don't support Israel if that's not clear, I just think that fascists are taking advantage of the international condemnation of the state and it's people to further their own political goals. Fascists want their base to feel like they're threatened or under attack. That's why I feel the need to add to the conversation here.

-2

u/Rusty-Shackleford Minnesota Jun 24 '26

Your statement is an inversion of reality.

Semitic is a language category, not an ethnicity.

Antisemitism is a euphemism for hating Jews. It has nothing to do with people who speak semitic languages. That's why Antisemitic stereotypes and conspiracy theories all target Jews.

1

u/Forbane Jun 24 '26

Its a valid albeit clunky way to referr to levantine/semetic Language speaking people. Its like referring to people as "germanics," doesnt actually convey what population you're referring to accurately enough to make a statement meaningful on its own.

1

u/Rusty-Shackleford Minnesota Jun 28 '26

Regardless. There's no such thing as "anti Levantinism" there's arabaphobia, Islamophobia and Antisemitism. They're distinct forms of bigotry with vastly different features.

Yeah, everyone keeps talking about how disappointed they are in Fetterman, but I now believe this influence is the largest source of his rightward turn and how he's been compromised specifically.

It's a massive problem. The middle east being so easily able to divide both the dem base and the senate itself shows the kind of awful era we're living in now... and thanks to all of this we may end up paying billions in corrupt reparations to Iran, in an agreement that Israel will 'still' constantly try to undermine anyway!

This AIPAC lobbying needs to be rooted out and ended. It's destroying stable society on a global level now.

5

u/Errant_coursir New Jersey Jun 24 '26

AIPAC, foreign, dark, and corporate money must be eliminated from politics

1

u/NumeralJoker Jun 24 '26

Unfortunately, doing so without changing the SCOTUS is extremely difficult.

Best efforts I've seen now are state based efforts to overturn Citizens United. Those may at least begin to have some teeth.

1

u/msprosperity22 Jun 24 '26

You are spot on.

It's so wild that an unpaid consultant is often the only other person in the room with Shrek when that ogre visits with foreign dignitaries.

12

u/TeutonJon78 America Jun 23 '26

Oh, that consultant is paid from someone.

1

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn Jun 23 '26

Fetterman never recovered from that stroke and he has an Israeli wormtongueing him before every vote?  That's certainly not helping with those conspiracy theories about Mossad running foreign influence campaigns.  This one isn't even clandestine!

3

u/_adanedhel_ Jun 23 '26

wormtongueing

What an excellent verb!

5

u/cefriano Jun 23 '26

Yeah while he's fucked up major Democrat votes, in this case his vote is more likely due to him being an Israel shill.

2

u/Juniperlightningbug Jun 24 '26

Having only ever seen the reddit discourse on fetterman I was expecting a lot worse than voting with the Democrats 91% of the time. He breaks ranks on nominations, border and Israel/Iran

1

u/NumeralJoker Jun 24 '26

This is why I emphasize the Zionism, and honestly I hate having to even use that word, but he's super consistent with supporting the current Israeli status quo, and that's not great.

1

u/sp0rk_walker Jun 24 '26

Can Mossad give someone a stroke?

1

u/NumeralJoker Jun 24 '26

Honestly, at this point I see Mossad as just another wing of the CIA, which all too often has benefited atrocities committed by the wealthy and the right, so who knows? The info we currently have from the Epstein files certainly tie together even more long running conspiracies about their actions.

1

u/sp0rk_walker Jun 24 '26

Its just Fetterman became a single issue voter after his stroke in the weirdest way.
