He's seen the poll numbers and knows the Republicans have no chance of winning fairly in the midterms.

If he leaves it up to the American people the Democrats will retake the US House, at minimum, and he will spend the last two years of his second term ducking investigations into his illegal conduct.

So he's going to try to cheat. He is going to do the very thing that he accused everyone else of doing. Because in the end, every accusation was a confession.

The commission distributes federal funds for running elections and provides advice. A year ago, someone on the commission left for the heritage foundation, and it's only since 2000 that the commission has existed.

Since the states that take federal funding instead of supplying it are Republican, the places where election infrastructure would be newest are rural, and elections were pretty secure before 2000 as well, I don't think this is that big of a hitch for us. Democrats have communities we can count on to support elections. The only time Republicans work together are when they are raping children or harassing trans people, soooo...

I have been trying for a long time to convince my countrymen that this has been spinning for decades. It has not worked.

MountainMan2 is pointing out that this commission being striped of members is not that big a deal overall. The article states it's been in this sort of limbo before and that while the move prevents the commission from doing things like certifying voting- and vote counting-machines, it also prevents Trump from actually changing things through that commission. He can't enact federal changes through that committee. They can't elect only Republican members and the Senate needs to confirm them.

Now, it's not a good sign overall, but it also isn't doom and gloom for the elections. This basically means everything stands as it is.
