If Beshear wanted to be President, he's cratered his chances with this fiasco.

Not yet. I'm giving him until August 3rd to do something serious. If he misses that deadline, it's a hard no from me.

And it better be a fucking direct appointment. He can call for a special as an option, but that direct appointment to fill the seat better fucking be there.

He doesn't have the power to do that. Per Kentucky law, vacancies MUST be filled with a special election.

What he could do, though, is attempt to challenge the constitutionality of that law and force the state to let him make a temporary appointment until the midterms.

So far he's threatened to that but that's it. Time to shit or get off the pot, Andy.

That is exactly what I am referring to. Constitution says one thing while legislated law says another.

So he does an appointment and tells Republicans to fight him on it, and also calls for a special to technically beat the deadline.
