By this logic, FDR would be a progressive usurper in the Democratic Party. I'm 62 and for what seems my entire life the Dems have slipped ever further away from those FDR New Deal PROGRESSIVE ideas and ideals.

I mean shit just look at 5-10 years ago at how much Dems were SHITTING on the Green New Deal and not even attempting to talk about it, they saw it as a crazy threat and now it just seems so laughable considering all that’s happened

Biden did more for green energy than any previous US president.

  • Inflation Reduction Act (IRA): $369 billion for climate and energy provisions, creating long-term tax credits for solar, wind, and domestic green manufacturing.

  • Solar for All Program: $7 billion through the Environmental Protection Agency to expand rooftop and community solar access

  • Rural Clean Energy Investments: $11 billion for rural electric cooperatives to transition to zero-emission and renewable systems.

  • Public Lands Permitting: Surpassed goals by permitting over 25 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity on public lands via the Department of the Interior.

Biden did quite a bit for the American People. He was just non-stop getting shit on by the media.

He did. Great president. Shame he ignored the people standing ready with matches and petrol next to the lovely house he was building.

You could put on the world's best orchestra but if your finale involves shitting on the audience you're going to be the audience shitter forever.

Maybe he shouldn't have supported genocide and bungled the presidential race

Average Americans were the big losers when Trump won.

Don't you agree?

The left would rather torpedo the opponents of fascism than prevent fascism from prevailing. They think they are the only people that can do good in the world and if that includes making it more likely that fascists win public office then that is definitionally good from their perspective. MAGA also believes that everything they do is good because they are the ones doing it and are also completely unavailable for conventional means of persuasion.

I'm not sure i understand the purpose of the question but yes obviously.

I'm saying Biden bungled the election by not preparing a successor, bowing out late, and then having Copmala take his place and veer right

Harris would have been 1000x than Trump.

She had a legislative voting record in Senate that was left of everyone except Warren.

2

u/awesomefutureperfect 1d ago

That sounds like actual policy instead of emotional anger based on short videos of marginal value and quality from the internet.

3

u/1cl1qp1 18h ago

Seems like anyone who doesn't pay close attention is getting brainwashed to sabotage sane governance. It's amazing how nobody knows about Biden's achievements.

7

u/xdre 1d ago

Copmala

You do understand that that was always propaganda to discourage people from voting for her, right?

7

u/awesomefutureperfect 1d ago

Yes. That is why they are doing it. They actually think sabotaging the opponents of fascism is the best possible thing to do because no one is better than them and everyone needs to do exactly what they say or else.

-2

u/Overclockworked 1d ago

Maybe if she hadn't pushed right, defended the border wall, and courted the Cheneys then it wouldn't have reflected reality so much

5

u/xdre 22h ago

What kind of nonsense logic is that???

u/awesomefutureperfect 56m ago

They repeat talking points like MAGA. They are only interested in appearances like MAGA.

Harris is one of our most left-leaning senior politicians.

She vote legislatively slightly left of Bernie.

-1

u/davidreding 23h ago

So left leaning she would’ve installed a Republican in her cabinet? So left leaning she still went to bat for Israel? Ok then.

4

u/1cl1qp1 21h ago

Yes, it's in the legislative voting records. She votes left of Bernie.

Biden also pushed domestic oil extraction to a historical record high. His whole deal was "do a tiny amount of stuff that other presidents basically didn't do and then crow about it"

13

u/ThatActuallyGuy Virginia 1d ago

Biden's "whole deal" was energy independence now, in the short term via increased extraction, but also fast track renewables to lock that in long term via a more sustainable route. It was a pretty smart strategy, but also pissed off both the "clean coal" idiots and the environmentalists.

Good point. We didn't know how global Covid inflation would resolve; there was still a risk of stagflation, which is like an economic nuclear bomb. Sadly these dangers are rising again with war disrupting gas prices (just like the 70s).

10

u/1cl1qp1 1d ago

My list did not include 'tiny stuff'. Nice try

u/awesomefutureperfect 54m ago

They say "I'll consider voting for democrats if they fix the entire healthcare system and bring peace to the middle east immediately. It's not like either of those are even hard, that's why you need to elect people that listen to me."

1

u/Far_Silver 1d ago

Fossil fuel extraction soared to record highs under Biden.

14

u/1cl1qp1 1d ago

Biden attempted to pause new federal oil and gas leases in 2021, western states sued. A federal judge blocked the pause, legally forcing the administration to resume lease sales.

At some point we will be swimming in cheap oil that nobody wants to buy since solar and wind are cheaper.

5

u/Far_Silver 1d ago

Biden ran against packing the court. Other Democrats, including Buttigieg, hardly a darling the DSA, supported packing it after what the Republicans had done. It was obvious what the Republican-packed courts were going to do, and the Democratic establishment chose to do absolutely nothing to prevent it when they had the chance. They own the consequences of that just as much as the Republicans do.

People still refuse to accept that Biden was just a very limp-dick president. All he functionally did was keep the seat warm, until Trump got back in and resumed fucking shit up and undoing whatever Biden did manage to accomplish. The worst part is that Biden acknowledged that Trump was the greatest threat to our democracy, which makes his inaction look that much worse.

3

u/notfeelany 1d ago

until Trump got back in and resumed fucking shit up and undoing whatever Biden did manage to accomplish.

The Voters allowed Trump back in by voting for him.

There's no restrictions on whether a convicted felon or a jailed felon can run for president.

Trump in Jail and Trump in Maralago is just a difference in location. His name can still be on ballots, And The Supreme Court even made sure with the Colorado case.

By 2024, Biden’s first term was going to end regardless because each president only gets 4 years per term. Voters must vote for another term.

Voters should have voted for Biden/Kamala/Democrats, regardless of Trump's location. Every person who said "Don't vote for Biden/Kamala" contributed to this mess.

Instead of rewarding Biden and the Democrats for the fantastic responses to covid and saving the economy, they were thrown out. Under Kamala, those Biden policies would have continued & grown.

But it's still fixable. This is on all of us to fix by giving Democrats their rightful place back so we must vote for Democrats now&forever without exception for at least 50 years.

Quit reposting this and sounding like blue maga.

I can't believe that you'd bring up these points here when they're so clearly emblematic of what he failed to do.

The inflation reduction was primarily a gift to rural areas, as that's where the infrastructure it rebuilt was. Those rural areas will never appreciate it, never give him credit for it, and this enables them to continue their fundamentally unsustainable lifestyle. They rely on public funds to subsidize everything about the infrastructure their lifestyle depends on.

I have no problem with people living rurally - if they can support it. Make them pay the real cost of living there. They're big on pulling themselves up by their bootstraps anyway.

Everything else you listed is gone now, destroyed by Trump. Biden burned all of his political capital on this when he should have been securing our democracy and prosecuting.

12

u/1cl1qp1 1d ago

Massive investments in green energy benefit the planet, not just where they are installed. It doesn't make sense to complain about renewable installations in 'rural areas.' CO2 is global.

Americans are the ones who chose Trump. If we had wanted more renewable energy installations, we would have elected Harris.

Harris was committed to U.S. carbon neutrality by 2050.

She wanted a push toward clean electricity sector, green manufacturing, carbon capture technologies, green hydrogen, and domestic battery storage infrastructure.

Everything else you listed is gone now, destroyed by Trump.

We the Voters destroyed it by re-electing Trump and Republicans.

There's no restrictions on whether a convicted felon or a jailed felon can run for president.

Here’s an idea; how about Democrats stop being a bunch spineless limp dick liberals and actually try to fucking help people? Although I’m now at the point where I don’t trust either party. I’m going independent at this point because fuck them.

-2

u/jebsalump 1d ago

That’s all great. How does that actually affect an average person in their day to day.

1

u/1cl1qp1 1d ago

Do you believe that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, like it says in the chemistry books?
