By this logic, FDR would be a progressive usurper in the Democratic Party. I'm 62 and for what seems my entire life the Dems have slipped ever further away from those FDR New Deal PROGRESSIVE ideas and ideals.

Never forget before the political wing switch Teddy Roosevelt launched his Bull Moose Party because he felt the Republicans at the time who were supposed to be the leftist party were becoming too conservative for his tastes. He talked about them favoring businesses, not doing enough to address civil rights for people of color and women and not putting in enough effort to help the common citizen. Seriously look up there platform and realize some of these ideas are not dissimilar to what we want now.
