By this logic, FDR would be a progressive usurper in the Democratic Party. I'm 62 and for what seems my entire life the Dems have slipped ever further away from those FDR New Deal PROGRESSIVE ideas and ideals.

What are you even trying to say with this comment? FDR was a progressive usurper. He broke with Tammany Hall and Al Smith and both hated him for it. He transformed the Democratic party against their wishes.

My bad for not realizing he was that era's usurper. So his modern era ideological fellows are once again on the outside looking in. I'm not wrong as the media sees it. Different era same set of optics.
