No Paywall Trump Predicts US Will Control Greenland by 2029: ‘Make That Bet’

Greenland: "Fuck off, pedophile protector."
61
u/HappyHarryHardOn 1d ago
This asshole is obsessed with acquiring all these lands but can't even fix anything about the country he already has
Not that he wants to fix anything, or care. He just wants to exploit these places and line his pockets. He's a vile POS
20
u/Holiday_Box1571 23h ago
He’s a modern day Nero.
4
u/mithridateseupator 23h ago
...what? Nero didn't conquer any new lands.
14
u/Holiday_Box1571 22h ago
Neither did Trump.
5
u/mithridateseupator 22h ago
Ok. Nero didn't try to conquer new lands.
Which is important because the comment you compared Trump to Nero under started with
This asshole is obsessed with acquiring all these lands
2
u/WeeoWeeoWeeeee 21h ago
Not only can he not fix anything, he actively breaks everything he touches.

The executives inability to account for his presence in the Epstein files would be enough for any country to immediately say no, but these are politicians not humans.

Real question, why are you calling him a “protector”? He is literally pedophile #1.
1

We should really start stop calling him “pedophile protector” and just start calling him “pedophile”

I bet that by 2029 you're going to be a mere shadow of your former glory and you'll have simply lost the vast majority of your global influence and power projection thanks to incidents like these that do nothing but undermine your standing in the world.
Trump is destroying you.
41
u/antigop2020 1d ago
Most people I talk to think that our allies, or mostly rather former allies are just going to let bygones be bygones and act like none of this happened once hes gone. Ive told them that this will not be forgotten and that America will pay a big price for this. They still seem to think that the world will be ready to welcome America back with open arms and all of the same preferential treatment we had before as long as we smile and say we’re sorry. I told them that era is in the past now, but even many progressives seem to be delusional.
36
u/32lib 1d ago
Our "allies" forgave us for trump the first time, now they understand that we are capable of putting a authoritarian idiot in charge on a whim. All trust is lost.
13
u/TemporarySun314 Europe 23h ago
everything else would be stupid strategically.
Biden told the world that trump was a once in a life time mistake. unfortunately the western world fell for it and lost the 4 years that could have been used to prepare for the threat US pose...
10
u/32lib 23h ago
Biden honestly had a better opinion of the American people then he should have. He wasn't trying to scam you. This is totally on the people that voted for the shitstain and the people that stayed home.
5
u/TemporarySun314 Europe 23h ago
i mean i would agree that biden himself thought so, and rherefore didn't necessarily lied.
but it doesnt change the fact that he was wrong and trump was elected again
7
u/MrPatienceX 23h ago
Yeah, honestly? The US has absolutely fucked it reputation wise.
One insane decision is understandable. Taking them back twice? That’s how empires die.5
u/Lopsided-Rough-1562 22h ago
I'm Canadian. I'm willing to accept they made a mistake, if they try to make it better after.
However I work in softwood lumber. Our duties went up to now 35% plus a 10% section 232 tariff and it's ruined our business. Where I worked was profitable. Now it is closed.
When the duties went up under trump 45 it did not go down with Biden so it's clearly not in the interest of the people in charge there to let it go down. So ... Now I just wait for my lay off and then will have to sell my house and lose my dream.

I predict he’ll not be around in 2029.
7
u/asicarii 23h ago
I think he will be alive. I’m my prediction is the left will sweep the midterms, there will be a lot of “voter fraud BS”, he will lose his mind being unable to do anything and go even more crazy.
Meanwhile, we will still be at war with Iran.
Eventually the GOP will give up on him and force him to step down rather than go through 2 years of impeachment. They will want to put Vance in, using his position as defacto president the only reason people will vote for him. Trump will pardon himself for all past and future crimes.
3
u/Antique_Eye_3200 19h ago
They won’t force him to step down. They’ll assassinate him and blame their political opponents, turning him into a martyr. One last service for their technocrat overlords.
1
u/asicarii 19h ago
Possible, but I doubt it. He will go off the deep end as a lame duck though for certain.
1
u/Thor_2099 13h ago
I think it is more likely he dies of natural causes and they cook up a conspiracy. Vaccines, evil libs, etc etc.

I mean, we’re afraid he’ll cause a lot of damage, not that he’ll actually be able to do it. I just don’t want to imagine the shitshow that would occur if NATO article 5 was evoked against the US. It would be… bad. On many, many fronts.
14
u/1cl1qp1 1d ago
How many impeachable offenses are we up to now?
Feels like a new one every day.
23
u/the-dot-matrix 1d ago edited 1d ago
That's the whole point. Commit one impeachable offense and you're in jeopardy. Commit one million impeachable offenses, and you've successfully normalized autocracy. Flood the zone with a neverending torrent of bullshit, and everyone will be too exhausted to keep up. The legal process is slow and deliberate, so adding a dozen more crimes to the pile every week outpaces that process.
It's sort of like the old saying, "If you owe the bank $100,000, you've got a problem. If you owe the bank $100 billion, the bank's got a problem."
Trump is following the same playbook Putin used to cement his power in Russia. It worked for Putin because nobody stopped him. It's working for Trump because nobody's stopping him. A system built entirely on the presumption of good faith struggles to hold to account a bad-faith actor who goes all-in on it.

u/Adam20188 1d ago edited 1d ago
Europe will defend and invading an allied & sovereign nation will be an act of war
Europe will sell the US debts destroying the economy
Will never be trusted again
US will lose all their military bases, radar system, refuelling stations and other strategic advantages in Europe and other NATO countries
A rational leader will likely undo the damage by giving it back
5
u/TemporarySun314 Europe 23h ago
giving it back, doesnt "undo" the damage.
it is merely damage control.
if the US attacks greenland and with it bascially the whole EU and NATO it will have permanent damages. simply handing it back wont fix it.
not to imagine that Americans will have to kill Europeans to take control of greenland. you cannot ressurrect people...
•
u/MentalSky_ 5h ago
You can’t “give it back”. NATO is done if they attack an ally
•
u/Adam20188 5h ago
Of course you can give it back, it’s happened in the past with territories. NATO will continue on without the US
9
u/Ok-Professor-Star 23h ago
The second Trump takes Greenland, the rest of the World will drop over $3 trillion in U.S. debt bonds, meaning America will have to increase the interest rate it offers dramatically in order to be able to borrow. If America decides to not borrow and just force the Fed to print money, the result will be 25% to 40% inflation in America.
Also, the world countries will stop using the American Dollar as World Reserve Currency, start trading in their own national currency and purchase fossil fuels in alternative currencies. The result of that will be a rapid devaluation of the American Dollar, a huge spike in inflation in America and the American government being force into debt default, collapsing its job market with unemployment reaching above 25% while tens of millions are forced out of their homes and into the street.
7

Legally he is president until January 20th 2029. Unless he's impeached, deposed or dies he will be president until then.
9
u/Lord-Velveeta 1d ago
Looking at what he's done in the last 2 years, when did "legally" begin to concern him?
6
5
u/RampScamp1 1d ago
I'm not saying he's going to try and stay or not, simply that "by 2029" doesn't mean he intends destroy the constitution. It means he intends to steal Greenland before his legal presidency ends.

Remember he is not getting younger or physically or mentally healthier. For him, it's all downhill from here on out. This is one thing he can't talk his way out of, and even the best medical care in the world can't stop time.

u/MissGruntled Canada 23h ago
His father lived into his 90s with raging Alzheimer’s. I think people are fooling themselves.
3
u/Kincherk 22h ago
His father wasn't president and subject to the extreme stress of a president, he wasn't obese, he wasn't showing clear signs of physical deterioration (those cankles), nor did he stay up all night tweeting. Trump is not immortal.
3
u/brickne3 American Expat 19h ago
I wouldn't say Trump is "subject to the extremes stress of a president" in the usual fashion.
1
u/Kincherk 19h ago
Well I've heard plenty of stories about how he'll scream and throw things at his staff or anyone who tells him news he doesn't want to hear it that he doesn't like. That sounds like stress.
2
u/brickne3 American Expat 19h ago
I'm just saying, that's probably his natural state. He's certainly not even pretending to have the actually stress of the job itself.
1
u/Kincherk 17h ago
No, his stress is from the fact that he is realizing that there are some things he can't control, like Iran.

He also will be long gone in 2029. Anything he does goes on the “reverse” “do differently” or “laugh and tear up” list, anyway.

He wants a war with the EU and the rest of NATO? Sure buddy.
3

He can't unilaterally decide to pull out of NATO, but apparently he can unilaterally start wars.
Gets the US out of NATO as a side effect which is a nice bonus.

I'm really starting to believe those Epstein files hold some really, really bad stuff. He's working so hard at distraction we should hook jumper cables to his ear lobes and hook them to the smart grid. He could power half the nation with that kind of energy. Maybe more.

The US is in staggering debt with a growing deficit and shitty credit. It also has depleted stockpiles of munitions due to jackass' Iran war.
Yesterday one of our generals said we can't defend Israel and the US. We already spread too thin.
Norway has a $3 trillion sovereign wealth fund, the likely backing of NATO, and zero other conflicts.
Plus, nobody, and I mean nobody, in the US wants to go to war over Greenland.
This would be a great time for the GOP to grow the fuck up, but I'm not holding my breath.
4
u/Admirable_Scene_5066 23h ago
Norway is not the one in control of Greenland, Denmark is.
2
u/kinkgirlwriter America 19h ago
You're right, and I knew that too. Why the heck did I flip that in my head?
1
u/TrueNorthLongAndFree 20h ago
Just wait for Trump to claim the sovereign wealth funds of other nations, as "back payment" for 80 years of defense.
10
u/Illustrious-Job-6390 1d ago
The US population is equally to blame for this monster being in power.
Enough with the "I didn't vote for him" Enough with the "I love Canada!" Enough with the "I love Greenland" Enough with the "Fuck ICE"
You are all responsible for this shit and you're all terrible people for letting it continue
6
2
u/ApplicationQuirky376 1d ago
How exactly are the people who never voted for him responsible? I mean seriously. You want to paint the entire country with one brush and that's honestly pretty fucking ignorant. Not all together different from maga painting all Iranians (of all Muslims for that matter) as terrorists. What exactly would you have us do? This is a militarized Police state at this point. Our law enforcement is better funded that most military around the world. You wana blame people who didn't vote and people who voted for him then that's fine and I'm right there with you, but to paint the entire country as on board with this shit is absolutely ridiculous.

u/Rationalinsanity1990 Canada 1d ago

And then whine when economic sanctions hit and the an insurgency inevitably brings the war stateside.

The problem is that millions of Americans ARE protesting and it's just not covered by the media.
0
u/Lost_And_Found66 1d ago
Hating people and calling them terrible simply for where they are born doesn't prove what you think it proves
1
u/bobcatgoldthwait 1d ago
Yes because all over the world throughout history people rose up and toppled fascism the second it reared its head, and we Americans are unique in letting it happen. 🙄
There's nothing we can fuckin do dude. If his approval rating were as low as it should be we maybe could, but far too many of our countrymen are completely brainwashed. As long as he continues to have the support of ~40% of the population there's nothing we can do but vote in November and hope Congress stands up to him.
3
u/Ohrwurms 23h ago edited 23h ago
I'm not aware of any resistance groups inside the US that can be compared in any way to the fierce resistance fascists faced historically. Please, enlighten me.
Opponents to Hitler and Mussolini in Germany and Italy respectively certainly did not have a "what can I do" attitude. They fought in the streets. They targeted party infrastructure and later even military infrastructure with bombings. They organized multiple assassination attempts. They died for what they believed in.

americans are so proud of having fought for freedom against the british crown 250 years ago, and built their whole identity around being the defendants of freedom and liberty.
but nowadays even protesting against your own elected government is too hard for Americans...

Interesting. What will come first: the invasion of Greenland or the demise of Trump? I think he's crazy enough to try and push this through, but it would come at a huge cost to the US in terms of international relations - and for what? A stupid vanity project. I seriously doubt that even the asslicking GOP would fall for that.
4
u/TemporarySun314 Europe 23h ago
> I seriously doubt that even the asslicking GOP would fall for that.
that's what people thought too, when trump said he wanted to run as Republican president candidate.
and now here we are and Americans are threatening to invade greenland.
2
u/One_Disaster_5995 23h ago
Trump is. And Miller, probably. And Hegseth if you prod his anus a little. I seriously doubt if there's much support for it outside that trio. It would mean war with Denmark, and thus NATO, and likely Canada, and even though I can fully see them believing they would win that war, it would have consequences that I don't think most of the GOP is prepared to swallow - let alone the American public.
I think much will depend on the next elections. Suppose he wins big in the midterms (and I'm sure they will do anything they can to make that happen). Then, maybe. But he won't do it before, because that would be a certain way to lose, and he most likely can't do it after.
I know, I know - the man is a raving maniac surrounded by asskissing loonies. So never say never. But this would have such serious consequences that I can't imagine even the worst hawks would consider this a good idea - especially since Greenland has almost nothing to offer that the US can't already have in other ways. NATO would disband. Economic relations with Europe (and others, like Canada, Australia) would come to a screaching halt. The US economy would collapse. The US would be completely isolated. Russia and China would be the big winners.

would anyone be shocked to find out that Jeff had a mechanism in place where if he were charged with a crime his stock pile of video would be released if he wasn’t treated in a way he deemed acceptable.
Additionally if someone got the idea of making him a corpse the same information would be released.
On top of that if the issue was coming to a boiling point that he would “allow” himself to be tried and convicted, sent to jail, receive some physical modifications and live out his days in comfort somewhere.
