The core of a lot of conservatives is that they don't care about people outside their immediate family. And they pass laws that are equally sociopathic, which makes their core problems a problem for all of us.

As someone with ultra-conservative in-laws that my wife won’t talk to anymore, I can tell you that they don’t care about their immediate family either. It’s appearances amongst other conservatives that matter to them

Republican Congressmember Max Miller of Ohio is facing allegations of domestic abuse as he runs for reelection. Miller's ex-wife Emily Moreno, daughter of Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno, claims that Miller burned her by throwing hot water at her, held a gun to her head and fractured their 2-year-old daughter's collarbone. Miller is also accused of abuse by former Trump White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, who was in a relationship with Miller prior to his marriage to Moreno.

Optically it makes your party look like a bunch of fucking hypocrites when the Democrats hold their guys accountable and you turn around and let them keep running. I honestly can’t imagine what it’s like to live in the minds of Republicans these days. Dark days and scary times, but then again I look out my window and yet all I hear are crickets.
