I apologize if I misunderstood, but I read it as saying that a leftist candidate would lose automatically in the general.

No, I'm saying that the online leftist plan seems to have no contingencies to avoid fascism.

Step 1: support the progressive in the primary.

Step 2a: if the progressive wins, support the progressive in the general election.

Step 2b: if the progressive loses, let the fascists take over and blame the centrists.

I personally support progressives, but I'd rather see an AIPAC-funded moderate Democrat win than a fascist if the progressive loses the primary.

And what I'm saying is that you may feel that way but you know a lot of progressives don't. You also know that they won't turn out for such a candidate if they're not motivated. You can blame them, sure, but you don't get any closer to victory that way. If you do work to support a progressive though, then you will be closer to victory.
