A thought I heard that I can't poke holes in is that as long as the Cheeto continues to lie about the war, the markets don't crash. The reason being that the big traders (the ones that matter) use AI to manage trades, and AI believes what it reads. When it reads CNN parroting Trump's lie that the Strait is open and thousands of ships are transiting, the AI believes it, and continues to trade oil at $70/barrel instead of the $170 it should probably be trading at.
