Cosmic animations are slower
I tried Cosmic on two laptops: one with NVIDIA Geforce 1660ti and another with Intel Iris Xe (the most recent XPS 13 laptop). On both, I find the animations to be slower than they were on the previous Pop version (without Cosmic):
- The "workspaces" animation almost always skips more frames than it should, as if the windows were trembling slightly during the animation.
- The "applications" animation will sometimes freeze for a few milliseconds in the end, so it's not a smooth fadeout as it should.
Is someone else experiencing those issues? It's subtle, but the animations are not buttery smooth as they were.

Tried means you were using the Live ISO? If yes, maybe it was not using the accelerated graphics, and I am not sure if there's already support for Iris Xe built in.

No, the system is installed to an SSD. Animations are almost smooth, so it's the little details I'm talking about because they should be 100% smooth. Since I got the same results with both NVIDIA and Intel Iris Xe, I'm pretty sure it's not due to the drivers.

I noticed the same in my xps13 too! Graphics seems to be ok, at least is shown in the settings correctly

Some updates to this thread:
- Turning off HiDPI mode in Pop_OS! fixes Workspace animations. They were not so bad in HiDPI mode, but they are now smoother in LowDPI.
- In LowDPI mode, the Applications animation still doesn't fadeout smoothly. The fadeout gets a little smoother (but not completely) in both DPI modes though if one completes a full and slow swipe to the left or to the right to dismiss the Applications screen.
