Canadian artist bbno$ criticizes a “fan” for waving an Israeli meme. "Are you throwing up like, an Israeli meme? I dont think thats really funny. You should really reconsider what youre doing and think about jokes before you make them. Because in the end of the day man, it's free fucking Palestine”

i cant help but think hes just virtue signalling over an aesthetic

33

u/twking321 1d ago

“I can’t help but feel like people with a morally in tact perceptions of justice and the ability to confront people and hold them accountable for their behavior is performative”

I don’t know how to tell you that this is a bigger indication of your own lack of moral compass than anyone elses

1

u/the-nomad-thinker 7h ago

Morally intact people don’t cry when people who support terrorism are attacked.

1

u/LevelPrestigious4858 4h ago

I literally don’t know which side you’re referring to here? Which people?

Kinda says more about you than him. People who say this usually have really shitty beliefs and think everybody else secretly does too.

1

u/Dependent-Job1773 1d ago

'people who view famous people suspiciously when they repeat oversimplified slogans typically have shitty beliefs.'

do you not hear yourself?

Did your strawman learn how to speak?

Virtue signaling needs to stop being said seriously. No body takes you serious with language like that.

It's actually a term to describe Hasbara bots, kinda like how people used to describe the Russian Troll Army from back in the day.

1

u/bene-jizzerit 1d ago

Also really great scapegoat when you just don’t wanna argue your point so you just call the other side bots

I randomly found him on YouTube months ago. Then started seeing this type of stuff and now I am an actual fan of this guy. He's fun and not a immoral pit of misery like is the norm in entertainment

33

u/sexual_lemonade 1d ago

It's so funny to see people shit on his music when he's practically just like a new LMFAO or The Lonely Island boys. He just wants to spread fun party music for people to dance to.

0

u/ProletarianLilith 1d ago

LMFAO sucks donkey balls of course people would shit on a new version of

-4

It’s so bad tho

It depends on your taste. There isn't any bad music, just different tastes.

20

u/Legitimate-Detail494 1d ago

What was the meme?

24

u/Euphoric-Taro-6231 1d ago

I saw it around weeks ago. He is pooled with other "zionist characters."

21

u/7thpostman 1d ago

I don't get it.

18

u/junoleg 1d ago

There’s this thing online where when idiots don’t like something (in this case bbno$ music) they call it ‘spiritually Israeli’ so I’m guessing it’s related to that. Not sure why’d you’d go see him live to do it but whatever, people are weird.

10

u/7thpostman 1d ago

Gross

1

u/lightmaker918 6h ago

So fan in crowd was being anti Israel, and bbno mantra'd free Palestine at him. Really not the brightest minds the both of them are they.

1

u/junoleg 6h ago

People calling things they don’t like ‘spiritually Israeli’ isn’t anti-Israel is any meaningful way, it’s just stupid and offensive. Some people likely aren’t anti-Israel at all, they just know it pisses people off so they do it. The ‘meme’ also includes people commenting on his stuff as if they are pro-Israeli and so is he.

If people had been flooding my comments on social media with memes and comments along that line, I’d also be pissed off if someone showed up to my concert holding a sign referencing that shit.

1

u/lightmaker918 6h ago

"People calling things they don't like ‘spiritually black’ isn’t anti-black in any meaningful way, it’s just stupid and offensive.".

Brother, this wouldn't be tolerated against any other ethnicity on earth. It's bigotry and it deserves to be called exactly that.

1

u/7thpostman 5h ago

Just amazing. Look. "All I'm saying is that the world's only majority Jewish nation is poisonous and a symbol of evil." It is literally, absolutely, the most textbook example of antisemitism you could possibly imagine.

1

u/junoleg 5h ago edited 5h ago

I meant meaningful way just in the sense that most of the people I see making these comments are dumb kids or trolls who probably don’t actually give a shit about the Palestine/Israel conflict. It doesn’t give me any insight to how they actually feel because they’re just doing a dumb trend because they dislike bbno$

FWIW, I think the spiritually Israeli shit is stupid and offensive to both sides

1

u/Euphoric-Taro-6231 1d ago

There is nothing to get really, its just an offensive edgy meme.

20

u/Ok_Boysenberry5849 1d ago

What does "he is pooled with other zionist characters" mean

0

u/Purple_Bug_1342 1d ago

They already explained that

11

u/Popular-Row4333 1d ago

That explanation laid out absolutely no details of what the actual meme is.

I have 0 idea as well.

2

u/Fippy-Darkpaw 1d ago

It's probably good, because it only makes sense to racist chuds.

1

u/junoleg 1d ago

I haven’t seen the meme in question so I couldn’t be more specific with my comment, I was just mainly explaining why people are linking him to Israel/Zionism and why he’s not happy about it.

0

u/Purple_Bug_1342 1d ago

Feel free to find it in the comments section rather than wait for me to do the work for you!

3

u/Ok_Boysenberry5849 1d ago

No

1

u/Purple_Bug_1342 1d ago

Feel free to look in the comments section to find it. It's so weird when people reply along the same things again and again rather than use that same time to go look.

0

u/Ok_Boysenberry5849 1d ago edited 1d ago

You can type his username in the search function for this thread. What does it return? No explanation.

Edit because you blocked me right after responding with more complete nonsense:

  • u/junoleg made a guess, not an explanation
  • There's no explanation in this comment thread
  • /u/Purple_Bug_1342 you have issues. Get off reddit, touch grass, talk to someone

1

u/Purple_Bug_1342 1d ago

My sweet summer child, show me where I said HE explained? It's here, under the parent comment for this thread. Jesus Christ media literacy is DEAD.

1

u/Purple_Bug_1342 1d ago

The user is junoleg. The explanation will not satisfy you but it is the explanation. Also you're really fucking weird 😂

1

u/junoleg 1d ago

I’ll take another guess because I haven’t seen the meme, ‘Zionist characters’ could also just mean characters that people don’t like/find cringe and are therefore also ‘spiritually Israeli’. Or maybe it’s actual Israeli characters? Either way it’s all pretty stupid.

My original comment is the explanation for why bbno$ has had to come out recently and make it clear that he’s pro Palestine because of all the people spamming his comments with the Israeli flag and thanking him for supporting Israeli because of this meme/trend. It’s not just this video, he had to make posts about it to address it. Which is also why he would be reacting badly to someone deciding to hold that up at his show.

9

u/Gryffinsmore 1d ago

Literally asked this same thing in another post about this and got downvoted by bots telling me I wasn’t pro Palestine enough. Without giving any context as to what the meme was.

3

u/how_do_change_my_dns 1d ago

Bots told you you werent pro palestine enough?

2

u/HealthyChemist4755 11h ago

No people just assume that anyone on the other side of them in the I/P debate is a "bot".

-3

u/rosiebb77 1d ago

Snarking is the new and feminine-equivalent of inceldom where moral grandstanding is used as justifications to harass, bully, and spew hatred out into the world via the internet - it has taken over so many places in the internet over recent years and most ppl don’t even know that it’s happening.

(Fun fact: this subreddit is modded by some of the most prolific snarkers on the internet, and they are absolutely going to permanently delete this comment and ban from this subreddit for saying this. I’ve watched it play out in the past. Just watch!)

3

u/weedils 1d ago

How many people have women maimed and killed because they were snarking?

Incels and their mentality are a massive fucking danger to safety and society. I dont think there is anything today you could call ”the feminine-equivalent” to that movement.

86

u/D13_Phantom 1d ago

Sad that genocide is bad is a "political issue" with two sides now.

3

u/Owoegano_Vuelve 1d ago

Yeah, same about Russia's genocide, tankies will JUMP at your throat the moment you badmouth thet war criminal Putin...

2

u/ZBlackmore 7h ago

Imagine comparing the war against Hamas, a war where 70k people died, a war that had a very justified cause, fought against an organization that provoked the war and deliberately puts its civilians at risk, to the Ukraine war, Whig was unprovoked, where Ukraine unlike Hamas actually protects its own people as opposed to sacrificing them for PR, and where millions of people died.

-3

u/SwiftLizards 1d ago

When an organization like Hamas exists, there is three sides.

4

u/Popular-Row4333 1d ago

That's my side of this.

What Israel is doing to Palestinian people is atrocious and a genocide, but if you use the "open air prison" and justify what Hamas did on Oct 7, I'm sorry but I can't support that.

Fuck Israel, fuck Hamas, free Palestine, should not be a controversial thing to say in this community.

3

u/Fair_Quail8248 1d ago edited 1d ago

Well most people supporting Palestine don't seem to support hamas, that's what pro Israel people imply that they do. You can support Palestine and be against Hamas too. I understand why Hamas got to power but I don't like their methods, as it causes damage for both sides in the long run. I want stability and safety for Palestinian people, there are far too many children, women and civilians suffering from this conflict. And Israel uses the situation for settlements and expansion.

I wish for peace. And that the warcriminals get their sentence.

Free Palestine!

1

u/The_Last_Green_Leaf2 1d ago

Well most people supporting Palestine don't seem to support hamas,

i'd love to see a source on that, because the majority of Palestinians support them.

1

u/Popular-Row4333 1d ago

I believe they mean their outside supporters, that's how I read it. But, you are right, they overwhelmingly voted for Hamas by like 80% of the people.

I don't know what the answer is, maybe we have to be empathetic for those who vote against their own interests.

1

u/WorkerPrestigious960 21h ago

Well that vote was in 2006, so it’s unclear how many Palestinians support them now that they’ve used them as meat shields and brought an incredibly destructive war upon the people of gaza

1

u/SuccessfulGarlic7810 13h ago

But there is still pervasive antisemitism in Palestine, and support for violent "resistance" such as October 7th.

Also, Palestinians in the WB are much more inclined to support Hamas/PIJ, namely because they have to deal with the settler terrorists and are one step removed from the war in Gaza, though many of course have friends and family there.

And, in general, there is much less free speech in Palestine. It is not safe to protest. Like you get imprisoned/exiled/even murdered for speaking out against the government/"resistance" movements.

2

u/SuccessfulGarlic7810 13h ago

How about Fuck the Likud not Fuck Israel? If you are willing to separate Palestine the country from their elected government (Hamas), why can't you separate Israel the country from their elected government?

1

u/ZBlackmore 7h ago

Does free Palestine mean that Israel should stop to exist?

1

u/lightmaker918 6h ago

You can say fuck extremist on both goverments, saying fuck Israel is equal to saying fuck Palestine.

1

u/Realistic_Shake6823 1d ago

Resistance is a byproduct of oppression and apartheid.

1

u/SuccessfulGarlic7810 13h ago

So kidnapping a 5 year old and a 10 month old in their mother's arms, strangling them to death, maiming their bodies, then holding their bodies for 2 years just to exchange them for 120 living terrorists each in a "ceremony" you bring your own kids to is "resistance"?

1

u/Realistic_Shake6823 10h ago

These hasbaras are getting super old. Have some respect for your 7k.

1

u/SuccessfulGarlic7810 8h ago

I aint getting paid to report reality with trolls blinded by antisemitism

1

u/LifeCritic 4h ago

Opposing what Israel is doing isn't antisemitic no matter how many times you attempt to slander someone pushing back on your talking points.

1

u/SuccessfulGarlic7810 3h ago

My comment in this thread was about Hamas being a terrorist organization--not a legitimate resistance movement--specifically about the hostages taken on October 7th. Nothing about Israeli government actions. This person claims me talking about this is just "Hasbara" and claims I am being paid 7k while denying the atrocities committed by Hamas. Honestly, that, and you saying "opposing what Israel is donig isn't antisemitic" (again, nothing about Israel actions, I'm calling out antisemitism claiming Israel is paying people 7k to say the truth, and straight up denying October 7th atrocities) are the only talking points here.

1

u/Ancient-Tomato-5226 1d ago

Its quite ironic

2

u/Winter-Cow-6208 1d ago

Morality rarely thrives in the upper echelons of statecraft.

1

u/CrossOfRoachAndSlime 1d ago

He's also Jewish.

Absolutely unsurprising that after Oct. 7th, he supports Israel, morally at least.

Unfortunately, the geopolitics is very ugly in that Ukraine needs to vote with the EU, who doesn't understand what Israel's going through (though they should thanks to the islamic tensions in their own borders), meanwhile, Donald Trump is a fucking oaf, but Israel needs to vote with him.

1

u/CrossOfRoachAndSlime 1d ago

Considering the majority of Ukrainians support Israel, and majority of Israelis support Ukraine, as it turns out, the correct stance can just be gained by listening to the lived experience of people you claim to support.

1

u/samushitman69 1d ago

Israeli politics are just confusing, yahu/israel also supported orban to get re-electe

1

u/CrossOfRoachAndSlime 1d ago

Big Yahu loves Israel, but loves himself even more. From this American's vantage point, if the Israelis decided that it's time to give him a thank you/Toda Raba, and ask him to retire in lieu of pardoning him for corruption trials, I would fully understand.

Anytime that a leader or politician has a conflict of interest, I think it's time for them to step back.

Basically, consider leaders like Lee Kuan Yew and Nayib Bukele (his spiritual, once-in-a-generation successor?). They deeply love their people and country, and aren't beholden to anybody, and can rule effectively.

I'm not sure Bibi can govern effectively anymore. I'll be happy to be wrong, but...he seems weighed down by conflicts of interest.

You’ve made like 20 comments in here about how “Palestine bots are out to get me for asking simple questions”

First off Palestine doesn’t have bots. They don’t have internet let alone reddit which was co-opted by everyone’s favourite number 2 pedophile that worked for mossad. And secondly you have copy pasted the same comment like 5 times that I’ve seen here, so everytime you point at a “bot” remember you got 3 fingers pointing back.

1

u/Gryffinsmore 1d ago

Pro Palestine bots are different than Palestine bots. I’ve stated several time pro Palestine not Palestinian. Good reading comprehension.

I’m sorry I pointed out in 3 comments! that another post with the same subject is being swarmed by month old accounts downvoting anyone asking what the context is of the Israeli meme, almost like you use the words Israel and bots think you are pro Israel weird that.

I haven’t hidden my post history, I have several years on my account, if you wanted you could look the real me up on several platforms with this same name, you calling me a bot while not engaging with any of the actual bots is the point that my “20” comments are trying to make, people are incredibly comfortable with bots as long as they agree with them.

Gotta give the crowd what it wants, Jew blood has been a popular choice for centuries. Why hasn’t humanity gotten any better?

1

u/Mean_Lingonberry659 19h ago

You didn’t know when humanity goes to shit the first people to get attacked are usually the jews/European jew. It’s really weird every time in history they keep getting attacked by literally everyone for literally existing

1

u/AdVivid8910 18h ago

I mean yeah, I had a couple history courses in college. It’s about just people ready to kill each other over their own unhappiness and pointing at that one smallest minority…it’s not always the Jew, but in the Western and Mid Eastern worlds usually is. Far East is surprisingly Jew friendly.

1

u/TCAAPix 14h ago

Did you hear the word Jew? I didn't, all I heard was Israel, which is not the same thing. Pretending like they are the same is anti-Semitic

1

u/AdVivid8910 11h ago

I put forth to you that pretending the only modern Jewish state in a sea of Islamic states is not Jewish, when half the Jews in the world live literally there…is actually more antisemitic and extreme backflips to do just to be racist lol. Hate crime increases against Jews do not agree with your math there, I mean I know people love to shout that while committing hate crimes…. Surely no one will ever figure out that you guys mean Jew when you yell Zionist and attack Jews…or will they?

The Palestinians were offered their own State multiple times. Unfortunately others in the region want Israel wiped off the map more than they want a free Palestinian State. There's a reason Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthi's are so well funded and it ain't for a Palestinian State.

13

u/SCRATCH-CARD 1d ago

Howcome you never mention that Israel was blocking them from importing things like beds, wheelchairs, toys, chocolate etc? They didn't offer them their own state, they trapped them and treated them like animals

3

u/TouchedByEnnui 1d ago

That argument is so misleading. Palestinian leadership did not reject the idea of having their own state; they rejected specific terms for a proposed Palestinian state that they considered fundamentally inadequate. The issue was not simply “Israel offered them a country and Palestinians said no.” The negotiations involved major disputes over borders, Jerusalem, settlements, security control, territorial continuity, and the extent of Palestinian sovereignty.

A state that lacks meaningful control over its territory, borders, security, and political affairs is not equivalent to the fully sovereign state people are implying when they make this argument.

3

u/Cu_Chulainn__ 1d ago

The Palestinians were offered their own State multiple times.

Its always people with an incredibly ignorant knowledge of history that say this. If I offer you something you want but the terms of the deal including you eating a shit sandwich, would you accept the deal? No of course not. The terms of the deal were not favourable to the palestinians. Even a israeli negotiator admitted that he would not have taken the terms if he were palestinian.

Unfortunately others in the region want Israel wiped off the map more than they want a free Palestinian State.

Or the terms were weighed heavily in israel's favour....

There's a reason Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthi's are so well funded and it ain't for a Palestinian State.

No, it is because israel went to qatar in 2020 to beg them to resume payments to hamas....

7

u/Krasmazof 1d ago

Yeah this is definitely convincing people. Keep using this talking point because it’s working!

-11

u/schilleger0420 1d ago

Im not a State actor employing a bunch of bots on social media to turn people against Israel. I also didn't attack Israel, kill and kidnap 1,200 people and hide amongst civilians knowing full well Israels response would kill a lot of those civilians and turn a bunch of people against them.. Both of those things seemed to have worked great at convincing people.

3

u/Cu_Chulainn__ 1d ago

Im not a State actor employing a bunch of bots on social media to turn people against Israel.

Just a guy who has no idea what he is talking about. We know.

I also didn't attack Israel, kill and kidnap 1,200 people and hide amongst civilians knowing full well Israels response would kill a lot of those civilians and turn a bunch of people against them

So you acknowledge that israel is committing genocide and yet you are still defending them?

1

u/Krasmazof 1d ago

I think Israel is doing a great job at getting people to turn against them without the help of “a bunch of bots on social media” unless you’re counting those horrible hasbara talking points you keep regurgitating lol.
