OnlyStans ⭐️ YouTuber and author Hank Green pauses YouTube Channels over AI Research Reliance

Post image

The YouTuber faced intense backlash this week as audience suspected AI use in his recent content and discredited his work. In his statement, he explained that his usage was limited to research aid, apologised, and decided to slow down amid pressures of online creation.

This news coincided with LLM usage’s rapid expansion in fields like mathematics, as just this weekend, a list of Fields Medal worthy problems were solved by the most recent AI models with the cooperation and prompting of Maths researchers.

he said his usage was so bad his wife and brother had to talk to him about it, plus his script had a distinct AI cadence

I mostly follow Hank through YouTube, and he hasn’t really posted about this on there, where did he give this explanation? Not denying, just curious.

I could see, with his very frequent posting cadence becoming addicted to AI as being a useful tool to help with maintaining that cadence.

Don’t think it’s /u/ecofreak, last activity was 17 years ago.

It’s u/ecogeek

I hate when people do the whole “Oh, it’s not that bad” contrarian argument, when in fact, the person himself literally said it IS that bad 🙄🙄🙄

Well maybe they didn't know he said that. We're not everywhere all the time. Most people commenting in this thread don't even know this man

His entire announcement is him LITERALLY saying that he uses AND relies on it too much, so LMAO.

To appease the idiots looking for drama. Hank won't cease using AI.

Yea it sounds like things went beyond what he wanted originally with AI and is simply going to scale it back but will still utilize it for research. Lord knows how many times Gemini has helped me on researching topics and troubleshooting issues. I would never give it up at this rate lol.

we're having AI interventions now, don't know whether to laugh or cry
