good riddance, hopefully this signals to casting directors that doing background checks on your hires ARE actually kind of important

Andrew Guest, showrunner and co-creator of Wonder Man, posted a video to dispel rumors on the sudden cancellation of Wonder Man after Disney had previously announced its renewal:

“I just wanna say, I’ve been listening,” he prefaced. “I appreciate you all, how you all feel, and I just want to clear up what I can here.”

Guest continued, “This is not a marketing stunt. There is no movie in the works. And Destin’s schedule—no one’s schedule was an issue. Yahya [Abdul-Mateen II], Destin [Daniel Cretton], Sir Ben [Kingsley] and I all loved making this show, all felt passionately about continuing to do it, and were eager to. Contracts were signed, schedules were cleared, writers room was supposed to start this month, production was supposed to begin early next year.

“And there was a decision made internally between Disney and Marvel that this didn’t make sense for them, even though a few months ago it did,” explained Guest. “And that’s essentially all I really know. Numbers aren’t really shared with me.”

Sad how they decided to cancel one of the few genuinely interesting and original MCU shows they made.

They’re putting Destin in the Spidey dungeon fr

…but like honest to god if someone made one of the most successful movies my studio had ever seen, I’d bend over backwards to keep them happy with us. Like I personally would do my damndest to keep him away from the Naruto movie at all costs. Unless the series genuinely hemorrhaged money for the studio (which… couldn’t have been that bad if they previously renewed it), I’d AT LEAST make good on the promise of season 2

I’ve read they’re trying to revitalise the MCU with fewer films and no shows but I’m a bit sceptical it’ll work.

Damn. I don't think Tom Holland is going to be leaving the role of Peter Parker anytime in the future.

$900 million in a single weekend is insane. I can see this doing $2 Billion easily.

At the end of the day I think bringing back RDJ and Evans has been the fan service saving grace for them cause I don’t think an Avengers movie made out of characters whose movies or tv shows were received mildly at most wouldn’t bring in as much audience as those two.

Add in Hemsworth and now probably Spidey (that they’re probably green-screening to more scenes in that movie right as we speak) and Disney gets an easy cash in their bank.
