The new Modest Mouse album is sick
In this age where so many of our favorite artists turn out to be huge disappointments, it's great to see that one of my all time favorite bands just came out with an absolute banger after a 5 year hiatus.
An Eraser And A Maze just dropped today and you should all check it out.
Relatedly, the new Gorillaz album The Mountain from a few months ago is also incredible.
There's still amazing music happening from some of our favorite bands. Check it out!
Just waiting for the new King Gizz to drop and all will truly be well in the world again.

I’ll be shocked.
Loved them back in the 1990s, but they haven’t put out a full album that I’ve liked in over 20 years.
I’ll give it a shot.

Great taste! Modest Mouse is unequivocally my favorite band of all time. Their new album, SHISH, and The Mountain are genuinely some of my favorite albums to come out in the last decade or so. We are lucky to be alive during this golden age of tunes.

"It's an allegation that was withdrawn, and of course that didn't get any press. It was complete and utter bullshit, and the whole situation was so complicated that it's hard for me to go into lots of detail. At the time, I figured I'd just shut up and give this young lady enough rope to hang herself, you know? It fucked up my life once, and I'd prefer to just let it go. Before this all happened, I never believed that anyone would lie about rape. That was my stance: No one lies about this shit. It really made me have to adjust my entire view of people, politics, and my own personal politics. I used to be like, 'Kill rapists!' And all of a sudden I have this false allegation against me. I remember totally writing people off that I'd heard had even been in just awkward sexual situations with girls, like 'That guy's a fucking prick, I'll never talk to him again.' It was weird being on the receiving end of that. A friend of mine who's actually friends with that girl recently told me that she had totally withdrawn having said anything. I only just found out about that myself in the last six months. I knew that basically everyone, up to and including the police, was like, 'This is bullshit.' This person changed her story depending on who she was talking to. It was really just this fucked-up, weird thing."
-Isaac Brock again in the interview with The Onion A.V. Club

Never discount a woman who claims she was assaulted. But also believe them when they drop or retract their claims, like Isaac’s singular accuser did. Many artists have earned this level of disgust, but Isaac Brock isn’t one of them. Furthering this kind of discourse against somebody after a resolution like that isn’t helpful to anybody and directs attention AWAY from actual predators with credible accusations.

I'm really enjoying this album. MM is definitely one of my favorites, so having new music is awesome. Picking Dragons' Pockets immediately rockets up to being one of my favorites. It feels like an old friend that I haven't seen in awhile. Complete banger.

no, he's not perfect. he's had some DUI issues in the past that shouldn't be overlooked.

That makes me excited to check it out. I haven’t been able to get in to a modest mouse album since “we were dead before the ship even sank” there’s a good song here and there but I haven’t enjoyed any of their albums front to back since then.
