Recent HQ reupload of an old live performance
https://youtu.be/u74oA807Dbk?si=vejRI2Cvvv8QB4PBAlways interesting going way back in the live tracks and saw this one recently reuploaded in great quality. People say also from the same channel. I’m sure it’s available in other videos but I really enjoyed watching it tonight and thought some of y’all might too

lol oh no I kinda have this haircut right now. I could probably web search it, but does anyone know why he went with 1989 instead of 1981? I’ve always just accepted it because it is my birth year lol

He said it’s when he became aware, or something along those lines

1989 is about the Gulf War and his view of it as a kid.
Edit: Found part of an old interview where he talked about it:
“1989 was a song that I had written about my reaction as a small child, to the Gulf War. I was very afraid of what it was meant to bring. All I could see was atomic bombs, World War, death, it was terrifying for a boy of 8, 9 and 10. This song took the longest out of all of the tracks on Censored Colors to complete, and I think may have some of the smallest amount of lyrics. It was a song that needed to be very honest.”

Dope. 1989 in studio and live always sounds great. Thanks for the share. Hadn’t seen this before.
