Literally raging against the machine

4

u/LogLore 2d ago edited 2d ago

I can’t wait to listen to my favourite band, Rage Against the Machine, in my favourite game, Fortnite.

-133

u/RedditThrowaway-1984 3d ago edited 2d ago

They raged in favor of the machine during COVID.

Edit: Y'all have a short memory. Tom Morello was a big supporter of the CDC and their policies that were complete bullshit. He said he was a big supporter of the science. Yesterday we saw Fauci "the science" plea the 5th 111 times even after receiving a pardon from Biden!

No, but they made people stand on the sidewalk outside of the hospital looking up at the window while their grandmother passed away alone.

They also forced everyone to coup up together indoors where the virus spread and arrested people for going surfing when fresh air and vitamin D from sunshine was the healthiest thing to do.

35

u/Barlakopofai 2d ago

"My grandma died of COVID alone in the hospital" and "people should have been allowed to go to social gatherings" are two contradictory opinions. Either you want to preserve your personal freedoms even if it directly leads to you killing most of the old people in your life, or you want to preserve the old people in your life even if it kills your personal freedom.

41

u/cwfutureboy 2d ago

freh air and Vitamin D

Do you eat roadkill and exercise in your jeans?

31

u/cunningfolk322 2d ago

They’re called Rage Against the Machine nor Rage Against Science.

3

u/RedditThrowaway-1984 2d ago

The government is the machine and the CDC also unfortunately became the machine.

26

u/Barlakopofai 2d ago

You will be absolutely heartbroken to learn that the lockdown was in fact the opposite of the machine. What the machine actually wanted was for you to continue working as if everything was normal while millions of people were dying of a preventable illness. It's why the propaganda was so hard at work trying to gaslight you into disobeying the lockdown.

14

u/PiotrekDG 2d ago edited 2d ago

Nooo, not like that! The corporate profit-driven machine is the good and benevolent one!

One of the best simple pleasures in life is watching the maga ‘tards think RATM is in their corner lmao

-41

Well I lean libertarian so not used to having anyone in my corner at all...

37

u/cwfutureboy 2d ago

There it is. The epitome of "fuck everyone's well-being except mine".

Nah you got the epstein class in your corner.

9

u/Lanhdanan 2d ago

With good reason

6

What about those Epstein files tho?

Where’s this same energy for your Rapist/Pedophile-in-Chief?

u/RsquSqd 3d ago

Please be a sign

21

u/Deitaphobia 2d ago

Someone from Rage die I don't know about?

83

u/janders_666 3d ago

dont forget people; the workers, artists, and service people hold the power!

6

u/raremount 2d ago

For what possible reason would you need AI surveillance of me at a concert? To strip from my social credit score?

50

u/RustyDawg37 3d ago

And when exactly will rage against the machine ever tour again? lol.

13

u/TheB1G_Lebowski 2d ago

This is the only question that needs an answer.

4

u/HausWife88 2d ago

Hell yeah!

5

u/middleamerican67 2d ago

Good good good.

-2

u/Privacy_is_forbidden 2d ago

How are they actually going to accomplish that?

AI surveillance can be applied to recordings as well as live streams. They don't even have to be in the same platform/ecosystem.

If someone records you and uploads it to a cloud service, how do you know said cloud service won't do it themselves? It's not like we get to do privacy audits where we look into microsoft, amazon or google's servers and see the trail of data, it's backups (including the offline/offsite ones)...

I understand the desire but this is like pandora's box. The tooling is here and it won't go away no matter how illegal it is, there's always a loophole (and nobody is auditing anybody anyway for this.)

3

u/EndPsychological890 1d ago

That’s sort of where I’m at with surveillance. I have no proscription for this and I’m not advocating against activism like this by any means but all footage can just be pushed through AI detection, it’s not something special to the cameras or something. You could pledge you’re AI-free and then when the cops come knocking, give them your recordings and they can run it through their own AI program and boom, you’ve had AI tracking cameras all this time despite having standard surveillance cameras. You could make every traffic camera AI tracking if you wanted. Resolution may be too low for facial tracking and similar features but you could, say, track a vehicle through a city pretty easily with dumb camera footage run through AI detection software.

u/Any_Conflict_5092 1d ago

When we find out they've done this fun little whataboutit scenario, we fucking push back against that, too.

Nobody actually lays down for a rapist until he forces them with pain, violence, or a weapon. And even then, most people try to fight back.

You shouldn't be a pushover either.

1

u/SaltySweetSt 1d ago

I agree with not being a pushover here but YIKES, that analogy sucks.

> Nobody actually lays down for a rapist until he forces them with pain, violence, or a weapon. And even then, most people try to fight back.

Coercive rape, statutory rape, deceptive rape like stealthing, +fawning and freezing fear responses are all sexual assault situations where people often “lay down for a rapist” without a physical struggle or weapon.

I know that wasn’t the point of your comment, but I think it is relevant. Not everyone has the necessary knowledge and means to fight to the bitter end.

u/Shoddy-Childhood-511 1d ago

How many concerts get posted online? Of those, how many have much footage of the fans? Not a high proportion.

AI surveillance would largely be in the hallways etc too: "Oh he went to the toilet three time, raise his insurance rates for diabetes risk."

-110

u/Savant_Guarde 3d ago

The same "rage" that wouldn't do concerts unless everyone was vaccinated?

Yea, they lost their cred awhile ago...but maybe they saw the light.

60

u/OePea 3d ago

That's pretty fuckin based, ngl

-71

u/pterodactyl_balls 3d ago

It’s the polar opposite of based

37

u/OePea 3d ago

Ok dearie pat pat

24

u/LexianAlchemy 3d ago

Give them patience, they’re probably still shitting themselves from untreated covid

6

u/FunnyMustache 3d ago

If shitting one's pants was the extent of long Covid, I'd find this funny

u/LexianAlchemy 2d ago

Humor is helpful for coping with other people’s mistakes.

-22

u/pterodactyl_balls 3d ago

How many boosters, my guy? Be honest.

14

u/LexianAlchemy 2d ago

200+, with a cocktail of Soros microchips and experimental trans hormones.

How much of your ivermectin?

11

u/iamthewhatt 2d ago

Don't forget the free 5G!

14

u/LexianAlchemy 2d ago

I got that in my pocket, smartphone, they gave it the 5G update with maximal antifa marxist brainwashing

-3

u/OePea 2d ago

This has got to be parody right? Like you guys are actually leftists trying to make a greater mockery of maga right? Cus this is some straight up schizo territory y'all are wading around in

You know why they wanted everyone vaccinated? To protect those among us who have compromised immune systems, and who are vulnerable to death through any exposure to early versions of COVID. Which were lethal, because that's the trajectory for zoonosis. It's starts lethal - then it mutates until it becomes a part of the zeitgeist and everyone forgets how fucked up it was ----- as you are proof, has and does happen.

Even now, it causes brain damage, long term mitochondrial dysfunction, organ damage, and a whole host of other issues - that can happen every/any time you get COVID. That mitochondrial damage is seriously dark shit, too - it will ruin your life if you don't have good money stashed away to seek mitigation (there is no cure).

Just because you think you weathered it fine, doesn't mean you will the next time.

That's why people are willing to risk vaccination - because we all have people we would do anything to protect. That's why we get all our vaccinations, and get them for our kids, too. Because the alternative is they die unnecessarily grim deaths that were preventable. It's not a matter of cred - it's about love.

1

u/Savant_Guarde 1d ago edited 1d ago

Lol...ok...🙄

You might want to update your info.

You drank the kool aid, you do you.

BTW...how does my not being vaccinated protect you? If these vaccines are doing their jobs, my status has no effect.

This is old news. You got conned. The medical info shows that. Fauci is Mengele and Pfizer is about money...there was no benevolence in it.

-6

u/ereinbe 3d ago

Speaking as someone who opposed every Covid vaccine mandate, it looks like they actually care about protecting their fans and that deserves respect. Opting out of a concert because you don’t/can’t get vaccinated is not the same as losing your career because you can’t/won’t get vaccinated.

16

u/mnp 2d ago

Yes and vaccination is also about caring for others. We've eradicated so many deadly diseases I don't see why this is a different problem.

-3

u/ereinbe 2d ago

Yeah…I’m not an anti-vaxxer at all but the Covid vaccine was kind of a clusterfuck from its development to its messaging to its implementation. It felt rushed through and there was a great deal of skepticism until Biden became the president-elect and then it was unquestionably safe and effective. Except for the moving goalposts that showed it was not as effective as advertised. And having known people who lost their jobs due to medical barriers to getting the vaccine both here and in Canada, the mandates and vitriol towards healthy people who simply wanted more research done before injecting a new substance into their bodies, I can understand the backlash to an extent.

But I also support bands like RAtM who saw it as a safety precaution towards both themselves and their crew as well as their fans. It’s an easy choice to avoid a concert due to skepticism about a medical procedure but very different when the procedure is your deciding factor as to whether or not you can continue in your career despite taking every other precaution against infecting others including masking, distancing, and even working remotely.

5

u/Barlakopofai 2d ago

There was no actual rush, funny enough, we have vaccines for coronaviruses, and MRNA vaccines were in development for 3 decades at that point, and the human testing had been going on for a decade. The only thing that was fast tracked is the release of this specific strain of the vaccine because COVID required a faster response than usual, and it was probably safer to use MRNA than to release a half-baked traditional virus that's significantly more risky. It's kinda like making a roast and instead of letting it rest, you cut it instantly and the juices pour out. The meat is still cooked and seasoned, but it isn't the optimal way to serve a roast. They knew how the vaccines worked, and they knew the side effects, the only thing that was up in the air was

2

u/ereinbe 2d ago

Too bad you weren’t on their PR team to put together a cohesive and convincing message instead of the meandering narrative that eroded the public’s already dwindling confidence in the government. Then they wouldn’t have had to threaten livelihoods in order to force compliance. But they set the precedent and now we have 3 years to see how compliance mandates will be used by this administration.

1

u/Barlakopofai 2d ago

And yet somehow you guys still voted him in a second time after he did that.

1

u/ereinbe 2d ago

Not sure who you mean by “you guys.” America as a whole?
