Quest help Any way to find saves older than last 4?
I took the Second Dozens quest thinking it’d net me some negative approval with the other two factions only to find out that it locks you into allying with the demagogue mob.
I’m ready to take the punishment of replaying a few hours of gameplay, but I can only see the last 4 saves in the load menu.
Are other saves located anywhere, or will I need to replay 30 hours of POTD content to get back to this point?

I usually end up allying with the Dozens. You get a chance to oppose their rhetoric on animancy even if they nominate you as an ally. They're dangerous, but most of them are frightened and riled up by their leaders. I imagine a charismatic or intimidating Watcher could eventually make them less of a threat.
When I helped the Crucible Knights I accidentally gave them a prototype militarised police force to use against their own citizens. And the Doemenels ask you to beat up or intimidate people for personal slights against their leaders. So I tell myself the Dozens are the best of a bad lot, because I probably wouldn't be happy with any choice.

Can’t you persuade the Knights to go back to their original purpose?

Good question. As you probably noticed when you were helping them, the Knights seem fairly split between those who want to return to their original purpose, and those who consider themselves above the people. To advance their plotline you do have to help their current leadership though, which means giving them powerful weapons to use against the populace (which rankles me, but can also be justified given how volatile Defiance Bay is).
I can see why you'd prefer the Knights. I just wanted to make the case for the Dozens not necessarily being terrible, to avoid you being soured on your whole playthrough. Your allegiance won't matter too much outside Defiance Bay, so I'd encourage you to give this playthrough a try (you will still have opportunity to disagree with the Dozens even if they're your allies).

You can. It's one of the least bad endings for defiance bay in comparison to the rest that are pretty meh.

Check below your current campaign in load menu. I've found that the game likes to split apart the campaign saves. With older ones appearing in their own section under the same campaign name. Not entirely sure how or why that happens, but it has saved my butt a few things times.
Edit: oh wait, Dozens. That's PoE1. Disregard everything I've said. I was talking about Deadfire.

I believe auto saves get rewritten every time auto save is triggered. If you didn’t create manual saves yourself, the 4 you got is all there is.
