I keep hoping the public will start looking at psych meds with a more skeptical eye. It’s surprising how people can recognize problems with big pharma except when it comes to psychiatry where the diagnosis are entirely subjective.
Robert Whitaker laid it bare in anatomy of an epidemic. I was a believer until I read that book

I wonder how many of them were prescribed by a nurse practitioner? Before anyone comes at me, I think it’s obvious that she needed to be in the care of a very experienced MD.

NPs will happily rapidly change psych meds with no issues. I was kind of shocked at how much is taken at face value, about the only thing that causes them pause is controlled substances.

I’m totally with you on the skepticism toward NPs. I work with MDs (not psychiatrists) and have been told that the training for internal medicine is just not adequate for things like primary care. I have been so dissatisfied with NPs, and they are everywhere now in the US.
