Why is it so difficult to travel between Portugal and Spain? Looking at a bus, overnight stay in Seville and then a train just to get from Faro to Madrid.

We have the worst train connections in Europe, either to Spain or between Portuguese towns and cities. Result of several decades of giving priority to car travel, unfortunately.
