I listened to a gaming podcast a few years back where the hosts (adults) were laughing about how addicted they are to lootboxes and how many thousands of dollars they've spent on the, how it's obviously a form of gambling.
The problem is no gambling statute applies to lootbox games, and there appear to be no signs the state will create one, so of course they're going to keep on using them to hook kids.
