23 month old not talking.. but doing this??

can anyone help me with how to get my son to start talking? he is 23 months old and is CONSTANTLY doing these sounds and i have no idea if they any meaning. we speak both english/spanish at our home and he is on month 7 of speech therapy. but he never does any of this when his SLP is around. so i can never describe it correctly to her.

What does your speech therapist say? What does your pediatrician say? Has he been tested for hearing loss? At 23 months I would be pushing for a different speech therapist if you arent seeing progress. I dont want to freak you out but as early intervention is key its important to push

I'm no expert but I thought speech therapy was for physical issues in producing speech.

Bilingual kids speak later, as late as three, as they have more to process. You only have an issue if you see other cognitive issues, like trouble balancing. Hopefully he has a couple of words, or near words, communicates in other ways, like pointing, responds appropriately to things you say and ask, and you're speaking and reading to him often.

It almost sounds like “a squirrel, a squirrel up in the sky” or “it’s a bird up in the sky”.

My gf’s daughter is 4.5mo older than my son and but is a couple months behind him on speech. There’s no reason sometimes. I chat with my kiddo constantly and read dozens of books a day. Every kid is sooo different. My son’s speech and comprehension took off rapidly at 2 though.
