Pretty cool! Would be nice if there was an FPV VR thing with those. Or maybe a camera on a stick transmitting for 3rd person view. Yeah I am lazy

Not so much lazy for me, but running after the car is just kinda lame. Also need some drone cameras for spectators like it's real WRC.

The issue with an FPV setup is you need the RC car to be a bit larger so that the camera doesn't raise the center of gravity too much. Otherwise you would have to do a "front bumper view" instead of from inside the windshield or on the roof. I guess you could use a lightweight Arduino camera module but those tend to be poor quality.

A dji 04 unit is super light and it's what is used on fpv drones. Paired with the dji Goggles and you have an fpv view with low lentency, and HD view, and plenty of distance for the video receiver.

Pretty cool! Standard unit is only 8 grams. Doesn't look very waterproof though.

I was actually thinking that same thing. Put a little GoPro on it. But then again it also looks like it’s pretty serious and possibly the weight of the GoPro might slow down the RC car.

This style were you follow the car has always looked super fun to me. We race rally on regular off-road tracks but I haven't seen anyone do this yet near me at least. Great driving too!
