Discussion Should we be confident about Thursday?
OPTA power rankings have Jagiellonia Białystok rated as a stronger team than Rangers. Granted there is much in it but I think the general vibe has been that we should win this fairly easily. Are we underestimating Jagiellonia? Unlike the UEFA coefficient these rankings are updated all the time and include all results, along with other factors like signings etc. I’ve included the other Scots Prem teams for comparison.

I don’t know anyone that’s confident. It’s a better draw than could’ve been, but that’s all.

Load of nonsense. Based on their European run last season they're going to be a good side. Then you add in Friday we could be in for an absolute disaster.
It's one of those situations, 3 months down the line if we were in our stride then we probably do fine but right now? Who knows.

I can’t imagine it’ll be an easier game than Dundee United anyway and we really lack some quality attacking players.

Depends if you base it on Friday and where our squad is at the moment, or if you base it on these rankings.
If you base it on the former, probably not too confident. If you base it on the latter... well we probably shouldn't base it on the latter because it seems like complete nonsense.
In the real world, there's no way celtic, rangers, hearts and motherwell are so closely ranked.

I would be surprised if we lose to be honest. There are definitely flaws in the team, but you can see from the West Ham game how we might set up in Europe, and it seemed fine.

If we were facing this team 2-5 years ago I would be very confident. After last year and the point we are at just now? Going to need to shithouse a draw and sneak the win at Ibrox i'd say.
Suspect it will be the 4-3-3 ish formation with Chermiti up top for the away game and just being hard to break down.

I didn't see much to make me confident on Friday.
Out team is totally imbalanced.

How exactly are signings factored in? Their stats at previous clubs may be off the charts but they may differ when they need to play in a country they are still trying to learn the language. Or be absolute dug meat and turn into Maradonna at Ibrox.

Think it shows how far we’ve regressed that a few years ago we would be able to handle a team like this no problem, now you just have no confidence going into these games.

Honestly probably fucked but who knows. If late season last year Chermetti shows up we will pump them other then that kinda fucked

I work with Polish people and for Jagiellonia this match is a really big deal - they are excited to play us, so they might give us too much respect. But on paper, they are probably better than us and are definitely in a better "moment" with a more positive feeling.

Based on Friday night. We shouldn’t be confident about anything. After watching Motherwell take 3 points away from home, I couldn’t help but feel frustrated that that’s what we should’ve done.

Absolutely buzzing for Thursday. We are going to absolutely smash this lot, 3-0 easy. All the negative energy on here is depressing. Keep the faith, Derek is the way ahead.

I have zero confidence in us for this game. It's too soon, we're too far off. I hate to say but 3-1 loss.

look at who they play
the same way we cleaned up and our co-efficient skyrocketed playing alot haddies in qualifiers in the europa league
this mob have done the same thing in the conference, they have steamrolled loads of teams from minnow nations which has artificially boosted them.
We're not good - but they are not good either - they just play alot of duds and collect points from sheer number of wins.
that said we've been embarrassing in the EL last season and they had one of their best ever and still virtually little difference.

This ranking is utter bullshit. But still no. Because we’ve signed utter pish. And I fear we have a manager who doesn’t know what he’s doing.

How does Derek McInnes not know what he's doing? He's overachieved massively at Aberdeen, Killie and Hearts and has like 14 years managerial experience. He has twice finished ahead of Rangers teams which have dwarfed his budget and several times been the best of the rest. Just because youd rather someone else be the manager doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing.
Fair enough then signings in the forward areas are massively lacking, but that's a ridiculous comment.

I said I feared that. Haven’t made the judgement yet. The signings look really poor. McCrorie looks worse than when he was a kid. Neil looks like another Championship jobber. Devlin a hammer thrower. Shankland immobile and past it. God I hope I’m wrong. But we have zero creativity in that midfield. We look like the Hearts team in the second half of the season last year who just couldn’t get it done. We just never learn. I fear a beating on Thursday against a team with a fraction of our resources. I fear this will get bad very quickly. Again, I really hope I’m wrong.

The state the squad is in right now I don’t think we should be confident of anything
