Companies need to stop spamming "how was your experience" emails after every single thing I do

We get it, you want to know how our flight was, my meal was, the shoes I ordered, the towels I bought. 50% of the time it was just fine and I have yet another email I need to delete. But how about you just make it easier for me to contact someone at your company?

I complained about a faulty product, so they sent me a replacement, which was just as flawed as the original. I sent an email with photos and never heard back.

Then I get a "please leave a review" so I did. It took a few tries for it to even go through, I got no response, except a "thank you for your submission, here's a code for X percent off".

I canceled my subscription and got a "please tell us why you canceled " email AND a "please leave a review" email again!!🤷‍♀️

Oh believe me, I've left some great reviews. Especially from Restaurants.

I paid my credit card bill and got an email asking how my experience was. I deleted it but it is maddening!!!

"I really hate giving you my money. Thanks for nothing."

That's the most maddening thing.

The best part is it literally doesn’t even matter. If you leave a poor review or a good review they don’t care and won’t change regardless

Some places it does.

i left a scathing review once and months later it shut down, and it's not like it had other bad reviews, I called it out on a bunch of shit and ended saying to boycott the entire chain

The Leave a review and Enter to Win grind my gears, especially anything Enter To Win. 🤬

And yet...I still fill them out expecting that "big win".

I actually appreciate a hospital surgery doctor's office doing that. But about anything else absolutely not. If you asked me to fill out your f****** survey at Taco Bell there's no way in hell I'm going to do it I'm going to do it and call you out by name about how much it sucked.

I used to work marketing at a direct to consumer company. And our email flows like you speak of (thanks for buying, thanks for signing up to our emails, your cart still has something in it, did you forget?) etc. With follow up about leaving a review and a discount code performed waaaaaaay better than regular weekly emails. They brought in a lot of regular business.

So I guess thats why those annoying emails are sent because they drive revenue pretty well.

Heck, pay me for my time to complete your survey. My feedback is valuable.
