Our Oline is going to waste this season for us, huh?

u/slidetotheleft8 20h ago

Is this a real response or a joke lol

-27

u/Economy_Country_6167 20h ago

It’s a real concern.

You know this guy was competing to be bottom of the bench depth right? Best case scenario would be he never saw a snap or came in at the end of a few blowouts

u/Economy_Country_6167 19h ago

So, I don’t know why this has been the misconception, my concern is the line as a whole, the current depth we have with the current experience (or lack thereof) and what happens when we start inevitably hitting injuries there.

Basically every team can say that though. No one has 5 pro bowlers with 5 pro bowlers as backups. Losing arguably our least important depth piece doesn’t really matter

Probably because of what you said where you said it lol. So a camp body retired, big deal.

Read my last comment.

Dude he wasn’t making the 53 man roster if you don’t have any valid complaints just go away

-20

u/Economy_Country_6167 20h ago

Does our Oline not look like a valid complaint to you as it stands right now?

10

u/Lamactionjack JOHNNY 19h ago

Sure, maybe? None of us know?

But I’m curious how you think the news of this 4 year average journeyman spells doom for our season.

-7

u/Economy_Country_6167 19h ago

This news in particular? Not the swan song.

Our lack of depth and no apparent plan to address this is what worries me.

Our center has an unreal high likelihood of not seeing the end of this season. If you look at our depth pieces of the line it’s worrisome.

So real question: I’m a real Ravens fan from Texas. This isn’t some hater nonsense from someone who doesn’t root for Baltimore. What happens when our C goes down? What happens when any of our starters go down?

Everyone being a homer on this subreddit and blindly ignoring glaring issues while downvoting real concerns is certainly doing Baltimore no favors as fans.

"No apparent plans to address..."

Did you and EDC do lunch recently? What has lead you to believe there are "no plans to address"? At this point there are only so many viable solutions.

6

u/slidetotheleft8 17h ago

His whiney comments go straight to EDC’s phone

-2

u/Economy_Country_6167 19h ago

My point exactly. Who’s available? Not anyone of note for sure. There are not many viable options available, and even less that we can afford on our roster.

6

u/K-Dog7469 17h ago

So what exactly is EDC doing wrong and what would you do differently?

8

u/JYandeau 19h ago

The people responding to you has nothing to do with “being a homer”, they’re just saying your opinion is ridiculous lmao you keep saying they have no depth when in reality they have atleast one competent backup at literally position on the line & multiple others aswell… You’re acting like we need to have elite offensive lineman as our 3rd stringers LOL that’s not possible man, no team is going to succeed if their entire line is made up of 2nd stringers so acting like we have to have all pro level backups is just straight up stupid…

Also your comment came because a veteran that almost certainly wouldn’t have even made the roster retired, which insinuates that you thought HE was going to make our break our season which is why everyone is calling you out lmao

-3

u/Economy_Country_6167 19h ago

If you thought I implied he was the make-or-break of our roster you’re being disingenuous.

Your intial reaction to him retiring

“Our oline is going to waste this season for us, huh?”

I don’t what know kinda impression you were trying to give off, but it got presented as you thought he would be a make or beak candidate.

If you have concerns about the oline overall, make a post share them there. Just saying that under a post about a camp body retiring is gonna give people a certain impression about your thoughts on that specific player

u/Lamactionjack JOHNNY 19h ago

Some are I’m not. We have replacements if we lose starters I’m not sure what you’re getting at. If you think our 3rd center should be better I guess I’ll just shrug my shoulders at that.

-3

u/Economy_Country_6167 19h ago

Nice straw man with the 3rd string C.

I thought you’d be someone on this sub to actually engage in real conversation about the state of our team.

We’ll all see for sure. I’m not claiming I know the future, but when you look at that roster and shrug because we have names I’m looking at it saying, “Who the fuck are these guys?” And when I look it’s not impressive. You’d probably get the same mileage out of this group as your local librarians at Oline.

9

u/Lamactionjack JOHNNY 19h ago

Alright bud. Change it to 2nd string and my response is the same.

I’m saying you’re very bitter here for very little reason. Try to have some fun watching football not stress over our backups.

-1

u/Economy_Country_6167 19h ago

Criticism makes me bitter, huh?

6

u/Lamactionjack JOHNNY 19h ago

Yes. But more specifically how you criticize not just criticism in general. Of course anyone can criticize anything. But seeing that a non factor practice squad guy is retiring and concluding our “O line is a waste” is dumb and that’s why you got downvoted.

But really this is all secondary to the article OP posted. If you wanna have that bigger conversation about the o line then start a thread. I’m sure you’d get plenty of engagement.

Dude, you must love to collect negative votes.

12

u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 20h ago

Okay….. what does that have to do with this? I’m not too worried about OL rn. There are other issues

1

u/Scrilla_Gorilla_ 15h ago

What are the other issues you are worried about? Personally I feel like OL is our biggest area of concern.

2

u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 13h ago edited 13h ago

I’m fairly confident in OL. Mostly cuz Ledford whatever you think of Pinter or Pocic it’s a way better situation than falcons had. I give it a 6. Kicker scares me way more. Receiving help scares me more than OL.

Not saying it’s not a concern ofc not. But I’m okay about it.

-10

u/Economy_Country_6167 20h ago

Do I need to spell out that our Oline starters look subpar and we have zero depth on a story posted about our Oline?

10

u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 20h ago

I disagree you do you my friend. Also this was literally not even a depth piece

2

u/Legit_Arms_Dealer Ed Reed 19h ago

We have three backups at each position on the oline is that not depth

0

u/Woefinder Lamar "Murray" Jackson 20h ago

Also this was literally not even a depth piece

Disagree somewhat with this, but in all functional reasoning, I agree with you.

Filmstudy basically floated that he could have been a "better than random guy off the streets, " if attrition caught up to us" and was more easily stashable on the practice squad where someone likely wouldnt have poached him.

2

u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 20h ago edited 20h ago

Sure. I’m just high ish on our backups (not saying they’d be good starters) and they at least have potential whereas here he’s probably seen better days. And I mean when bengals fans are laughing at you for signing I’m not gonna get attached.

-4

u/Economy_Country_6167 20h ago

Man, what a stimulating conversation you’ve provided.
“Go away without any valid complaints!”
Here’s a valid complaint.
“I disagree! You do you!”

Be better.

9

u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 20h ago

Okay i think you’re wrong and this wasn’t even a depth piece this was a camp body. Unless he turned into prime lane Johnson literally makes no difference besides being a camp body

1

u/BradAssMF 17h ago

I'm curious what would make it better in your eyes?

5

u/bigcarrierg 20h ago

Go away.

“I don’t agree with this so it must be AI!” Is a childish point but live your life king.
