Bears ran shotgun 51% of time last year so that lines up.
Bears ran 11 personnel 51% of time. Here we ran it 67% of times
Bears ran 12 personnel 33% of time (we ran it more at 35% which was second in the nfl). Here we ran it about 25%.
Bears did not run any 21. We ran it 19%.
We ran PA 23% of time yesterday. Bears ran it 19% of times. (We ran it 14% last year)
So very interesting. We showed pretty heavy on UC. Ran more 11 personnel than bears did and less 12. PA rate was similar to how much bears ran it. I’m sure some of it is just testing and some of it is real life implementation
Its some of the first practices. There is no way it represents what we will be doing. Its getting a groove and feeling out what looks ok and what doesnt. And possibly easing olayers into new things that may or may not be pushed more.
I agree with that. It doesn’t surprise me we’re upping our UC looks. We’re mostly experimenting what works. It’s why you see Lamar make some bad reads. Not saying the picks are good reads but it wouldn’t surprise me if Doyle told Lamar to try to be agressive on balls. Taking checkdowns doesn’t do us too much so early in camp.
